Good day,
The clicking you hear is the compressor trying to start and cannot.
It could be caused by the start components mounted on the side of the compressor.
They can be removed and tested. There are 2 or 3 components.
The start relay, the start/run capacitor(some models only) and the overload protector(which makes that clicking sound you hear).
Take the parts to an appliance parts house. They are usually more than happy to test them for you.
If they test o.k. then your compressor failed. A very pricey repair done only by a pro. However.....
If your machine is under 5 years of age do nothing. Call your selling dealer. A new compressor would be free.
You would have to pay for start components but that would maintain the balance of the warranty on the compressor.
Testimonial: "thanks for the help but a friend called and told me to unplug it and let it stand for 15mins then to plug it back in. It works great thanks"
Good Afternoon friend, thank you for your post!
I see that your Frigidaire freezer is making noise and you have recently defrosted it, but your freezer is still making the noise. Your freezer will make certain noises which are normal operating noises for the freezer.
The compressor is a high efficiency so you may hear it during start up and while running. Additionally, refrigerant circulating through your freezer can make a tapping sound or even a gurgling noise. I hope this has been helpful. -Matt
