I just bought a very used consew 225. cleaned lots of old lint and debris out of it and then oiled it. i changed the thread from a light cotton to an upholstery weight. when i went to sew the top thread tension is perfect but the bobbin tension is just laying straight on the fabric. the machine is threaded correctly. i couldn't find which screw on the bobbin casing is the one to adjust. plus when i tried to turn the screws they wouldn't budge. don't know if i just need to call the guy who has serviced my reg machine.
I would go out and get a new bobbin case if i were you. I bet that screw is stripped out
The bobbin should have a thin metal peice that the thread goes under to create tension, the screw closes to end the thread comes out of is the one to adjust. If they were sewing with a light thread on the machine the tension on the bobbin is probably set pretty tight loosen it a little at a time, turning the screw counter clockwise. You might need to check your top tension also if it is showing a knot on the bottom. The bottom is to tight or the top is to loose.
