SOURCE: when i talked no one can hear me but it move move the meter.

This may be a simple and very basic problem with all Cobra models. Honestly I wouldn't ever choose a Cobra, they're cheap radios. Instead buy a Galaxy or Uniden. But have you tried the Mic Gain? If not, turn the Mic Gain knob fully clock-wise and try asking for a radio check, if this doesn't solve it, you also might want to check the microphone's connecting ports, the connecting ports may be damaged or corrupted, if so, you can replace them by buying a new connecting port. If this doesn't work, your transmitter may be damaged or corrupted, this can be fixed, but it is expensive, you're better off getting a new radio. And don't forget, some truckers are dipshits (no offense) and ignore a lot of people.

Keyed the the mic on my galaxy 959 and nothing happened. No transmit light, needle didn't move, just like the mike wasn't plugged in. Unplugged and re-plugged. Replaced the mic, didn't help. ????????

did you turn the radio on? There are a lot of possibilities . Could be a final or just a simple fix like a diode but without a service manual don't attempt to fix it . You can get the service manual at www.cbtricks.com .

I keyed the mic on my galaxy 959 and nothing happened. transmit light didn't come on, needle didn't move, nothing happened. It's like the mic isn't plugged in. I replaced the mic, didn't help. ?????

You might have it flipped to SSB instead of AM on one of the front mounted switched. It's the switch right under the freq. counter.

The switch right above the volume needs to be in the power mode, and the GNF switch needs to be in the CB mode-not on PA.

Cb not transmitting

Could just be a bad wire or the switch in the mic. It is hard to say without test equipment.

Got a connex 3300HP has a ranger board and chipset won't modulate recieves fine keys up relay clicks needle doesn't move no voice either cant find schematics

You may have a dead meter.
Modulation is audio's affect on swing wattage or pep. Notice that needle moving more with your voice.
Dead key or carrier wattage is without your voice enhancing the power only with mic keyed.
I can only assume that the chipset you are referring to is an ic chip audio or pll which must be working if you are receiving audio.
Check your mic cord................ transmit and modulation and even your receive volume can be affected by the cord/mic plug solder joints or broken wires here.
http://www.cbtricks.com/radios/galaxy/dx33hp2/graphics/dx_33hp2_sch.pdf this is a similar radio the General Lee, Connex 3300hp and Galaxy hp2 share boards i believe dont hold me to that thou.

When i turn on the midland 100m cb, I don't hear anything. The antenna is connected. Even when I key the mike, the needle doesn't move.

What about the Microphone you are using---Is it the right one for this model? If its not a Mic problem then its a burnt transistor in your board. Keep trying something with the Mic. May have to get it serviced at a repair shop. Sorry, can't help much.

Swr meter not moving

follow these steps to adjust the
standing wave ratio(SWR).
1. Turn on the CB.
2. Set S/RF/SWR/CAL to CAL.
3. Key the Mic and rotate SWR CAL so the meter points
to CAL.
4. Unkey Mic.
5. Set S/RF/SWR/CAL to SWR.
6. Key Mic again and note the actual measurement on
the SWR scale. Refer to the following table to interpret
the reading.

1:1 - 1.5 Great
1.5 - 2:1 OK
2:1 - 3:1 Not So Good
Higher than 3.1:1 Terrible
