Replace its Laser Pickup Unit. It is faulty.

There are a few things that you will want to troubleshoot:
First, if you have other DVD's that are being read with no problem, then either your DVD is scratched or unreadable or is in a format your DVD player cannot read (some of the newer DVD's will not read in older players) or your rating level is set to block the DVD.
If your player is not reading ANY DVD's after working normally, check to see that the carriage is not damaged and that it opens and retracts cleanly and smoothly, Use a professional cleaning kit and follow the instructions. Still not detecting your DVD's MP3 Discs or Video CD's? The lens and laser apparatus can be damaged and can fail over time for many reasons from being struck or jostled, a power surge, and just normal wear and tear. It might be time for a new one.

try put a vcd disc or cd audio disc, if it reads, then your lens subject for replacement, partially burnt.

ive seen this in countless DVD players either 1.the laser mech is toast or
2. the laser driver cog's are missing teeth

either way you need to replace the laser mech you can normally order one from a electronics service center to fit or you can contact the company/manufactuer and see if you can get a laser mech for the unit
now most cheap DVD player manufacturers do not supply spare parts as there made on the cheap in china and should when faulty be thrown in the bin and a new one be purchased! because it is not worth fixing!

This is due to faulty DVD lens/head. Try cleaning it with DVD/CD hed cleaning CDs.If still the problem persists, contact near by service center for replacing the faulty Lens.

there are a few possibilties
1 make sure the disc is clean
2 your lens may need cleaning
3 some dvd players don't read burn copies of disc's some just read +R discs some just read -R disc

Aha. I just found a solution. Press DVD menu on the lower left.

the lens is located on the inside. you will have to remove the top casing, once you do you will see the dvd player, then you will need to remove the top bar that runs across it. you will see a yellow sticker on....undo the screws and the you will see the lens.....

Reset you player by doing the following:
With the player on, hooked properly to your television, and on the correct station:
Open the tray
Close the tray (with no DVD inserted)
Hold the stop button down for a full 5 seconds
The CyberHome screen should appear. You should be able to play your dvd's now.
