With a gas dryer taking to laong i usually start with the gas ignitor and valve...
since you are getinng things dry we can assume youir ignitor works'so then go back to gas valve
there are two coils on it the boost and assist
again since things are getting dry we again assume your boost is good but your hold is probably getting week
i would replace both at the same time just to be sure
you can order them at
www.appliancepartspros.com

ill be here if you need help
have a good day

I have an older model kenmore 110.96529810 dryer. I just replaced the heating element and it still isnt heating up...whats next

You need to check the "Thermal fuse","thermal cut-off" and "high-limit thermostat". Check all three with a multimeter for continuity. Replace as needed.

Kemore dryer model110.67522600, checked continuity on heating element,OK, Thermal fuse OK,cutoff-tml ? Thermostat #3977767 no continuity.Thermostat #3387134 ?

Both the high limit thermostat #3977767 and the operating thermostat #3387134 are normally closed switches and should have continuity. These thermostats are usually replaced as a set because when one fails its often caused damage to the other. The part # for the kit is 279816 and comes with both and is cheaper than if bought separate

Hi i replaced the thermal fuse in my kenmore dryer, started it up and it blew less than five minutes, what`s the problem any takers?

I would check your venting and also replace your cycle thermostat (4 wire therm) mounted right next to the thermal fuse. If you have a clear vent and new cycle therm this will take care of the problem. part number on the cycle therm is 3387134

Good luck _MJ_

Bravo gas dryer takes too long todry clothes

Taking too long can be very difficult to troubleshoot because term is quite relative. A load of bed linens will dry much quicker than a load of jeans.

Check your dryer vent (usually outside) to see if a bird or critter has made a home. Then check your vent hose. Same thing, look for buildup of lint here. Check your filter as well. See if there has been any lint that has built up and fallen off the filter (look down in tube, holder, etc).

Since dryers use room air to circulate with, and then expel it outdoors, also make sure that there is adequate air flow to the dryer. Open a window in same room, if you can. If it improves, then your house is sealed up tight (and that's the problem).
