The backlight power supply has probably failed.

Would buying and replacing the 4 Backlight Inverters fix this problem? Mine (if it's been off for quite a while) when turned on will show the image on the screen for a few seconds, then the screen goes black. I have the TV apart and have the board part numbers but I want to make sure that I order the right parts to fix it.

Partial black screen

A number of things could be wrong.
See if you can get the menus to work correctly.
If you can see the menus then the problem is not in the playback system, but in the taking part of the camera.
Could be a ccd problem if the menus are okay.
If you can get the menus, set all to default, and then test it.
If the menus also shows the bad picture details as you have described, then the camera needs repair.

Cant see picture

This is usually a closed caption box. Try working through the menus looking for closed captioning options and turn them off. If that fails to resolve the problem, please confirm your model number and I'll check further.

Deleting texts and photos

To delete messages:

>Messages
>Press Open Menus button (black round button in the middle of the 4 way selector arrows)
>Cleanup Messages
>Select
>All
>Select, etc

The Open Menus button is worth remembering because it open a lot of submenus that can't be accessed any other way.

To delete photos:

>Multimedia
>Pictures
>Additional Storage Device
>cursor onto photo
>Open Menus button
>Delete
