Troubleshooting LG Top-Loading Washing MachineDoor Error. The washing machine gives a flashing beeping DE error that the door (top loader) is still open while this is not the case. You may encounter a situation when your washing machine displays 'dE' error. This error appears when the door is not porperly locked.


If the Machine is displaying "dE" error, kindly check for the following :

? First and foremost the door must be properly closed.

? You can check the end of the drain hose is too low (Make sure the holder of drain hose in the back is intact).

? Also, you can check the end of the drain hose is submerged in water.

Very simple error, the fault code indicates that either the door is indeed open or that the door lock or door interlock mechanism cannot inform the electronics that the door is properly closed. LG door locks are known to and do commonly fail, the common one used in most LG washing machines and washer dryers can be found here with a link to a lower cost alternative part. However the door handle (can be found here) is also a common source of trouble and, if the catch doesn't engage into the lock properly you will get this fault code being displayed.
On non-display panel models this fault code is denoted by the light for the door lock being lit or flashing.

• Check door is closed correctly and latched
• Check door handle for damage or wear
• Check door safety lock if inoperative replace door lock
• Check door lock wiring
• If there is a clicking sound once or twice when the Start/Pause button is pressed the main control board may be faulty

A dE error code indicates that the washer door was unable to lock. This can normally be resolved by performing a simple reset on the washing machine.
How to reset the washing machine:
1.
Press POWER to turn the washer off.
2.
Unplug the washer from the power outlet or turn the circuit breaker to the unit off.
3.
With the power disabled, press and hold the START/PAUSE button for 5 seconds.
4.
Plug the washer back in, or turn the circuit breaker back on.
5.
For more information about how to reset your specific model, please refer to the owner's manual.
Press in on the door firmly and select any cycle. The washer door should lock, and the cycle should begin without an error code appearing on the display. If the cycle does not begin and the dE code appears again, repair service is required.

Door switch fault, either replace door switch required or maybe an adjustment of the switch. Push against door inwards when displaying dE and hold pushed in to see if it goes away to confirm switch problem

My Turbo Drum Isensor is Beeping and shows dE..what is wrong and how do i fix it?

Call for warranty service should be in warranty for a year.

The dE error means that the door switch has failed to "make" Either the door is not closed all the way, or the door switch needs to be replaced or adjusted.

You may have a door latch problem and it will need to be replaced.
