I received a water inlet valve for the icemaker on a Kenmore refrigerator, model # 363.8791582. The water line from the wall connects fine, but the water line on the icemaker side will not. The line fits into a hold on the valve, but there is no threading to secure it & keep it from leaking. Is there any way to connect it? I already called Sears, & they have no solutions, just stated this part was an authorized substitution, & a Sears technician can make it work. Can't afford that!
The valves they have now only have push locks. so the only thing you need to do is push the water line in and it should lock.
Testimonial: "Even though the answer was not possible, it did answer the question about how the connection is made & that I may have to replace the water line."

HawaiiTech,
Thanks for your response. The existing water line has no push lock, just a threaded nut for screwing it on to the valve. It's a plastic version of the nut on the other side of the valve coming from the water supply.
Does this mean I'm going to have to replace the water line from the ice maker to the valve too?
Thanks again!
