Deleting ring tones to free up phone memory space

I tried going to "settings and tools" on my phone and to memory then phone memory to delete old ringtones i don't want to download new ones and it doesn't delete. i also tried going straight to the "music and tones" applications and then to my ringtones to delete them that way and they still dont delete. I noticed next to the ringtones is a YELLOW bell as opposed to a GREEN bell next to the song..is there anything i can do?

I am also having this problem. Sometimes the ringtones I download will play for a day, then be either cut short or not play at all. Then when I try to delete them, they go to the yellow bell instead of the green one, and they wont delete.

I have the exact same problem.  When I go to the "yellow" ringtones and select their "file info", my phone will immediately shut off.

i have that problem too. i cant delete them or use them and my phone restarts when i try to look at the file info

I've noticed that when I delete them, the files actually do delete (in a sense) but the filenames remain and the file stays as 0.0 KB.

I m not able to send messages from nokia e63,it showing general memory is full, close some applications.i reset the factory settings but it didnt work

hi, try deleting some of your data inside ur phone

you enter message menu then go down to sent and saved messages and delete all these that you have sent that are not important to you.

Maybe your problem is that you have used up all the phones memory so it cant save any sent messages so deleting things like ring tones you don't use, delete all the ones you don't use the same with pictures etc delete as many as possible then this will free up some memory for your phone and solve your problem.

let me know if this help you with your problem.. =)

I have a Motorola V3c

Text messages are not the only thing that uses up memory in the V3C. Have you added any of the following to your V3C?

1. Pictures
2. Videos
3. Ring tones

The first 2 items can eat up a lot of memory. Try deleting some of these to free up memory space.

Good Luck,

- Jim

Sony Ericsson P990i - Erasing Tones and Images on phone Memory

yes, that's very much possible. In your tools folder go to control panel then go to file manager. there you will see folders from your internal and external memory. just browse your files and delete the files you don't need. btw, if your refering to the built-in tones and images, you just have to download a 3rd party software that would browse thru your phones system like x-plore for uiq3 devices. it's just like a pc file explorer for your phone. hope this would help. good luck! ^_^

Cannot delete ringtones

HI Below is the step by step method of how to delete your ringtones in your Motorola V3: Here is an easier way to delete the ringtones without much hassle. 1) Upload 1 mp3 rintone to your phone via MPT 2) Set ALL ringtones msg, alert etc, absolutely everything for all styles (obviously excl. silent & vibe) to the uploaded MP3 3) switch your phone off, then on again. This will update the .db files. 4) Using P2K, delete all the rintones, except for the MP3 that you uploaded, do not delete the .db files. Also, do not delete the .bas files as these are the base files for Motomixer. Set all reminders to OFF. do not EVER delete a ringtone that is currently in use by the phone. If you delete it while it is active, You will NOT be able to get into that particular tone setting. 5) Switch your phone off, then on again.
