Nothing happens when i plug my usb cable into my computer with the tomtom ONE

Plug the power cord into the cigarett plug on you next ride
power the tomtom up after 5 mins
leave it on there for an hour
then at home plug the USB but also the tomtom

that should do it

If you are plugging into the wall, you may have a bad plug. Try plugging the USB into the computer and see what happens.

(remove your sd card if you have one ) then try plugging it in to your computer via the usb cable for a few hours, then press and hold the power button for up to 15 seconds.

put your sd card back in and reboot it once it starts,

if that fails, let me know and we can try something else but that normally works as long as nothing has happened to it, like being dropped ect.

I presume that you are using the docking unit, so plug it into a usb with the tomtom turned off, then when you turn it on it should boot up the tomtom home prog.
If that doesn't work, remove any existing tomtom home prog from your PC and try again.
Download tomtom home from your CD or from the website.
If you have aquired the unit second hand it may be blocked due to security reasons.
The only way to sort it then is to mail TomTom and give them your serial number and an explanation !

Be sure that you have the Tom Tom turned on. Also, if you have it plugged into a front USB port on your computer, try connecting it to one on the back. I hope this helps.

My TomTom One is acting up. All of a suddent, it has a hard time finding a valid GPS signal. Then, it sometimes becomes frozen at the first screen when you turn it on. When I try to connect to the computer, the menu page comes up on the computer screen, but the unit does not respond to anything. This unit has operated smoothly until now and I have done nothing to change it. Any ideas?

Sound as though your Map data card is corrupt. Remove the SD card and check it with your computer using a card reader. Backup the SD card onto your computer. You can run either chkdsk or go to the drive letter under 'My Computer' right click and select properties, then tools, then check now. You can also try starting the Tomtom with the SD card out of the unit. It should show a picture of the Tomtom with a 'X'. You can also try copying the data on the SD card to another SD card.
