Extremely slow copying

No problems with printing, faxing speeds. It's only in COPYING something that the speed slows to about 75 seconds for a single, normal-density text page in black and white, with print speed set at FastDraft. Similar slowness to when printing a color page at "maximum dpi."

    Appreciate the effort, Altini.

To be precise, it's "copying" that's terribly sluggish, not the printing from the computer.

Your solution hasn't changed anything. Paper type had been set at "automatic" but "plain" makes no difference.

    Any other ideas ?

Cartridges may give a very slow printing if internally damaged, or :
When using colored paper in the all-in-one, printing or copying is slow. This issue is a result of the automatic paper type sensor misreading the colored paper as photo paper. The print out takes longer because the unit is printing in Best mode instead of Normal mode.

  1. Click Start , point to Settings , and then click Control Panel .
  2. Double-click Printers and Faxes .
  3. Right-click the appropriate all-in-one, and then click Printing Preferences .
  4. Click the Paper/Quality tab and under Type is: select Plain Paper . This sets the default paper type setting to Plain Paper.
Hope this helps.

Copying extreemely slow

Things that change printing speed are
-Color vs. Black and White Low 4 PPM High 25 PPM
-Quality DPI Dots per Inch. Usually 100 200 300 DPI
-General speed of the make and Model
-Photo Printers are very slow but produce a clear image.

You can set DPI in setup on the printer
Copiers are just the speed they are

Kyocera printing very slow

Has it always been slow, or is that a recent development? At its fastest, the FS-2000 only prints 31 pages per minute, and that's for regular single-sided 8.5" x 11" with no special requirements. Anything else will (thick paper, longer paper, duplexing, etc.) will slow the print speed down.

One thing you can try to speed up the print speed is to change your spool options in the print driver. Go into the print driver (Control Panel > Printers & Faxes, right click on the FS-2000 and select Properties) and find where the spool options are located. Try selecting different spool options (such as waiting to send the job until all the pages have spooled, or sending it page by page) to see if any of them affect printing speed.

There are other options in the print driver's properties which could affect printing speed as well. Look around the different tabs and try changing some of the options to see if they make any difference.

You can also go to Kyocera.com and download and install the newest version of the print driver, which might speed up processing as well.

Hope that helps!

Very slow printing - HP 5610 all in one

Very simple solution: The cartridges still have ink in them but printing is very slow. Remove the cartridges from the printer. Take a wet paper towel and wipe the print head on each one until the ink flows from each head. Usually it is the color cartridge because it is used less than the black one. Once ink is flowing again, reinsert the cartridges into the printer and your normal printing speed will return. This worked for me, no thanks to the "experts" or trouble shooting guides.

Slow copying

normally, it's because you are copying in a high resolution. have a look at your user manual, lower the scan resolution and it should be a lot faster. Check that you're scanning in black and white -that can speed things up as well.

Slow Printing

it may just be a slow printer head, maybe an upgrade is in order. look on the box for page printing speed.
it may also be that you have the resolution set too high for basic printing. try turning this down slightly.

hope this helps.

Printing Slow

hi,

check the length of the usb cable. if it is very lengthy then there would be problems with the speed.

if not
> unplug the usb cable
> click "start-->control panel--> printers and faxes"
> select the printer icon and delete it
> restart the computer
> plug the usb cable
> wait for few minutes while the driver installations are complete automatically.
> once that is done, try to print

thanks and regards
