are using using the recommended battery (Li-Ion Rechargeable Digital Camera Battery KLIC-7001) If yes and your using the correct AC daptor just try to clean the metal contacts of your battery using a clean dry cloth
Now try to Turn On camera,, if its failed try to turn On camera using your 5V AC adaptor if its failed it means camera needs of service Call Kodak Toll free 1 800 235 6325. GudlucK!
Well you should lurn from this,,only use the charger that comes with the unit,,,im sorry to tell you this but you more that likley have done your camera in was the charger you pluged into your camera the same voltage and polarity as the cameras normal charger?
if it was in revers you would have cooked the camera

Hi it dont need to be on whilst charging, some cameras will switch themselves on when you plug them into the computer, but you can still turn it off, now you need to bare in mind that unless you are using a powered usb port is one that plugs into the mains then into your computer you may have problems charging the camera enough through the computers own usb port, it may still charge so you will have to try some cameras will just power up enough to enable you to transfer pictures onto your computer.
give it a try and see how you get on, it wont matter if the camera is on or off whilst plugged into computer how ever it will charge quicker with the camera off if it will even charge at all
yes replace both ,batterry and the charger,thath way youl be shure and the new battery must be charge for 12 hrs ...
and should works fine after ..

Hello, Quite possibly the battery is a few years old and has lost the capacity to power the unit on,these type batteries become weak over time and the unit requires quite a bit of power to boot the camera,only solution is try a new battery that has been charged for at least 4 hours.Hope this solves your problem,the battery is very cheap on E-Bay,Battery is KLIC-5001. Hi , if your camera wont turn on with the power pack
you may try another one or battery that you no they are full charged, probly your battery charger is dead
if that not works you may have a problem whit your camera

* You need to check the type of adapter your using. If your using the 5V AC adapter or USB adapter and the camera won't charge the battery contact kodak support line 1 800 235 6325 (23KODAK) for possible repair.
For Z740 camera the batteries should be AA Ni-MH batteries it will provide a maximum power on the camera. Now if your using the battery and its fully charged still wont turn On.
To test your camera if its defective, Try to Turn On the camera using a 3V AC adaptor if this failed it means you need to send the camera for repair you may call kodak tech support toll free 1 800 235 6325 ext 12

plug it in dc power if you have a docking station the unplug the cord from the dock and into the camerea. regargable batteries only charge if the cameras sitting in a docking station
