I sent my iQue3600 in for repairs unit number 6763741 and Garmin exchanged that unit for a different unit number 67374210. It appears as though I need a new unlock code for the new unit. The unlock code was not provided. Can you help or do I need to make a phone call to speak directly to a tech?

Garmin normally replace your unit with a refurbished unit. Yes call Garmin and ask for a new unlock code. Normally they provide a new registration ID (yellow piece of paper with the unlock code for the latest mapsource map and accessories which it also included with the refurbished unit.

First, the unit must be reformatted correctly then the appropriate system files put back on the unit, including the map. The map presents an issue because you simply can not copy a map from one unit to another. A map unlock code must be generated and that code is derived from the map ID code and the units internal serial number. We have repaired this problem many times. More info can be found here:

First, check to make sure the map file is there. The file name is gmapprom.img. It's located in the Garmin directory. It should be 1GB in size. To do this you need to connect the Nuvi to a PC with a USB cable.
Next, please tell me what year of map you have on your unit, 2009, 2010, etc.
Them, email me your units internal serial number. Its a 10 digit number (not the number on the outside). The number starts with a "3" and can be found by pressing the tools button, then system and then "about".
Unfortunately all map software is copyright protected by Garmin, so you need to get it from them. Attempting to download a newer map off a different unit will not work, as you will also need to generate an unlock code which is initiated by internal serial number of the GPS.
Each map is locked to the unit serial number. The only way to get the map to work on another unit is to buy the maps and register the map serial number and you will receive a unlock code from garmin.
Did you try to upgrade your Garmin with 2008 maps? If you have the map registration code then you will have to go to garmin's website and get an unlock code. You will need the registration code and also the unit serial number before you can get a new unlock code. The unlock code is base upon your unit serial number and will only work with that unit.
Is there a way to "look up" the mapsource code on my iQue3600?? The number I have is NOT matching, refuses install.
