Never disassemble an eyepiece unless you know exactly how to put it back together. Only the outer glass lens ever needs cleaning.

Without knowing exactly what link of eyepiece you have (they are all different designs) it's impossible to tell you which way the internal lenses go.

Your best bet may be to simply purchase another eyepiece.

PS-- every eyepiece manufacturer voids their warranty if you disassemble the eyepiece.

How do I clean Discs Lens

I don't know about that model in particular, but in the rare occasions where I've felt the need to clean a disc player lens, I've always taken apart the chassis and taken the lid off the disc assembly, which is usually a separate box with various wires coming out of it to connect to the circuit board in the main chassis.

With the lenses exposed (after taking it apart), I spray some glasses lens cleaner on a lint-free glasses cleaning cloth, and gently wipe the moist end of the cloth over the lenses, using the weight of the cloth only to contact the lenses.

The lenses are held by a very delicate mechanism for focusing by a magnetic field, and if you touch them directly you will very likely damage them and cause the focus to go permanently bad. DON'T TOUCH THEM.

Also, the laser output can damage your eyes. Make sure it's unplugged when servicing it.

If you've never opened up an electronic appliance, don't try to open it to clean it. You'll probably break the whole thing if you don't have experience.

You can try one of those cleaning discs but I don't know if they really work. It's hard to get something close to the lenses without damaging them.

Hey guys , after a little bit of tweaking a managed to open the monocular , cleaned the lenses, tightened the bolts , but i don't really remember the order of the lenses & their orientation. I have...

Hello, did you remove the lens from its tubes? Also did you remove the lens set rings? If you did, O boy. These lens are set to give a center line focal point in the NV tube. The adjustment on the eye piece is for the focal point on you eye. While adjustment on the large 50mm lens is to adjust the center line focal point. If you removed and of lens rings and took them out. Then the lens need to send a lens Opitic company for reclibration to the correct focal point..

Now send me a diagram on what lens you have and I will see if I can reassembly in the correct manner. stewbison

Wollensak 15x, rochester ,usa I took the lens out of the smallest tube and need to put the lenses ,washers ,spacers, back in right order from eye side to fourth lens/

No one can answer this question-- there are multiple ways that lenses can go together. You should NEVER disassemble the entire lens-- only the outside surfaces ever need cleaning.

Which way does the magnifer lense on the eye piece go please. As it fell apart thankyou

No one can advise you how to put an eyepiece back together -- there are too many different kinds, and some have from 3-7 separate elements.

Best to just toss it and buy another eyepiece. NEVER try to take one apart. You void the warranty when you do that. Only the outside glass elements should ever need cleaning.

I TOOK THE EYEPIECE APART TO CLEAN IT AND HAVE THE LENSES OUT OF ORDER, WHAT IS THE CONFIGURATION OF THESE LENSES? CELESTRON 114.

NEVER EVER disassemble an eyepiece --- no one can tell you how the lenses go together there are dozens of combinations and some eyepieces have as many as 6-8 glass lenses inside!

Sorry buy another eyepiece and only clean the outside surfaces.

I have a minolta 404si. it recently took a fall and i dont no whats rong. there is no light coming threw the eye piece. the light meater keeps activating the flash. if i take the lense off there is light...

I suspect your lens is forcing the mirror up when it's mounted on the camera. This would cause a dark viewfinder and as the metering system is also in there then no light means that the camera thinks that it's in total darkness and activates the flash.

Try another lens. If the problem continues then the camera body is broken, if not then it's the lens. Most likely to be the lens though.

Used Minolta lenses are readily available at reasonable cost (or free if you ask on FreeCycle) so unless your lens problem is obvious and easy to fix then just replace it as spares are mainly non-available and labour charges are high. If you want a new lens then Sony retained the same lens mount when they took over Konica Minolta.

Double vision

it looks like when you took this apart you did not alignt the lenses properly, there should be a locating groove or stub which these lenses should fit to... it looks like they are pressing against the stub but are not located properly, hence the distortion. try taking it apart again....when you put it back together again the fault may have gone.
