Can't turn off mute on panasonic phone

Press the mute button to turn mute off.

Removing the handset rechargeable battery for a couple of house is the closest thing to a reset. It is also possible that you have a sticky mute button. however, if it is happening on all of them, remove the power to the main base station as well as all the other handsets. Plug the base in first and then all the extensions.

Rather than rehash the manufacturer's language, here is a link to the full manual for your phone. It should answer your question, and you can print it for future reference. The MUTE function is discussed on page 24.

The generic instuction for mute on almost all phones is *6 (star followed by 6). To un-mute just press *6 again.

There may be a specific command for your phone, but I'd be surprised if this does not work.

HOLD DOWN the "M" key which is the "*" key in the bottom left for 3 seconds until you hear a beep.  Repeat if you want mute again.

Is there an 'M' on the display? If so, that means it is in 'meeting mode.' All you have to do is press and hold the star key (*) and that will take care of it.

The mute button works when you have a speakerphone call. That means SP-PHONE pressed and press MUTE and it flashes to let you know it's on mute.

Maybe software version 9.0 will fix the mute to work on handset calls.....
