I could not upgrade neither windows XP, Windows 7 of this Product Model: GT5662. Would you assits? Thanks.

Hello kelvinvu, according to the information that I gathered from this computer model, it has Windows Vista 32 bit home premium installed on it. Windows XP is an older operating system so you can't "upgrade" to it. You could however install a fresh copy (more likely completely erasing all your previous information on vista and data files) or you could upgrade to Windows 7. Since you are using "Windows Vista 32 bit home premium", you have to upgrade to "Windows 7 32 bit home premium" or better. So if you were trying to "upgrade" to Windows 7 Home Basic, it will not allow that since it considers that a downgrade in the Operating System. You should actually be able to pop in the Windows 7 Home Premium CD while vista is running and start the upgrade process pretty painlessly that way. Just access the CD and walk through the menus for upgrading Vista to Windows 7. As a reminder, you must use the 32 bit discs. If you try and use the 64 bit discs (a different operating system as far as windows is concerned) you will have to go through the same process of installing a new version of windows (not upgrade). I hope this has solved your specific problem kelvinvu, have a great day!

Instaling windows 7 in vaio laptop have vista orginal windows how solving the problem in instaling windows 7?

if your system came with vista originally the issue would be is you would need to know what version of vista you have on your system, the version makes the difference if you have vista home premium then your windows 7 should be a win7 Home premium as well, because if you are upgrading vista using your win7 disc and your windows version are different for example you have vista Home premium and your win7 is win7 ultimate and you do an upgrade the problem will be your product key,

but if you have a retail version of win7 and you are installing it on your laptop Vaio insert the disc in the DVD-drive win7 needs a DVD reader to be able to install win7 if you have a cd-rom it wont work, then turn the laptop off power it back up keep on tapping f12 it should bring you a boot menu, select ODD or which ever is your dvd drive then press enter then enter again if it says on the screen press any key to boot to CD, this should begin win7 installation on the screen saying windows is loading files the so on ans so fort ^_^ this will over write everything in vista but in win7 it will still create a windows.old folder from vista only from the my documents folder my picture and my music and my video and desktop Items but remember application icons will not work on win7 you may need to reinstall the program again for it to work on win7 and yeah make sure that you choose custom/advance in the selection screen do no select upgrade unless you vista and win7 are the same version eg. Vista Home premium / Win7 Home premium ^_^

Update to windows 7 on Gateway M-1624 Notebook with vista

You can upgrade to windows 7 from Vista is pretty straight forward. All you have to do is put Windows 7 CD in while running Vista and automatic startup should show you options to choose. There's some trouble with it sometimes for example, you can't upgrade a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version, or upgrade from a higher edition of Windows, such as Windows Vista Ultimate, to a lower edition, such asWindows 7 Home Premium. If this is the case, you'll need to use the Custom option during installation. Please remember that while Upgrading will keep all of your files and programs, custom installation will NOT. So you would need to back everything up before you start. Before you install Windows 7 make sure that all of programs that you need will work on it. For more information visit this microsoft website dedicated to upgrading to windows 7 >> http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/help/upgrading-from-windows-vista-to-windows-7 Have a nice day and good luck.

I cannot install java on windows vista home premium why???

There are several problems with Vista. You might have to find a previous version of Java that will work for Vista. Two solutions: 1.) find previous version of Java on Filehippo.com; or 2.) Upgrade to Windows 7 (recommended). Windows Vista is the predecessor to 7. 7 is far more stable and will find almost everything you need on its own.

Error states Spy Sweeper is not compatible with 64-bit operating systems.

This from the Webroot Web site on supported operating systems:

Windows Vista® (32-bit versions of Home Basic, Premium, Business, or Ultimate), Vista SP1 (32- and 64 bit versions of (Home Basic, Premium, Business, or Ultimate).

So, assuming you have bought the latest Spysweeper (and assuming you have Vista 64 bit) , then you need to upgrade your Vista to SP1.

Upgrade vista home premium

As per my knowledge, there is no version of Vista called Vista Professional like in Windows XP.
Make sure what is the version to which you want to upgrade to from Vista Home Premium to Vista Business or Vista Ultimate.
The available versions of Vista Operating Systems along with the features supported from the Link below :
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/compare-editions/default.aspx

However, if you want to Upgrade the current version of Vista to a higher version like Vista Business or Vista Ultimate, you need to purchase Vista Anytime Upgrade kit from any retail store or directly from Microsoft.
You can find the required information related to Anytime Upgrade Kit from the link below :
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-vista/get/anytime-upgrade-overview.aspx

However, make sure that you had created the Recovery Disks for your notebook using which you will be able to reinstall the preinstalled Operating Sytem along with all the Preinstalled Applications and Drivers after which you need to use the Vista Upgrade Kit to upgrade to higher version of Vista.
However, if you are currently having a 32 Bit Vista preinstalled in the Notebook, it is not possible to upgrade to a 64 Bit Vista since you can upgrade only a 32 Bit of Operating System to a higher version of 32 Bit Operating System and a 64 Bit Operating System to a higher version of 64 Bit Operating System.
Hope this helps....
