As a DJ myself, I have seen that before. On a night that the equipment will not be used, UNPLUG ALL CABLES AND POWER, then use an eyedropper to drip a drop or 2 of water on the spindle and manually spin the table a few turns., wait about 5 minutes, then drop a couple drops of rubbing alcohol and again spin the table. Wait a couple hours or over night, and follow with a couple drops of oil. NO MORE THAN 3 DROPS OF ANY OF THESE!!

I have a Clavinova 35/55/65 and 3 keys have stopped working. Did spill a coke there 10-15 years ago but except for the keys sticking a bit everything worked until now.

I couldn't find any tech data for 35/55/65, but it looks to be similar to a large Yamaha I had to repair a couple of months ago for this same issue.

Keyboards can be practically difficult to work in, and can have very fragile interconnects. I wouldn't recommend anyone unfamiliar with working with electronic equipment and the risks involved to attempt this repair.

It may well respond to careful cleaning of the rubberized contact strip that sits under, and is actuated by, the keys. The pcb pads underneath that act as contacts should be cleaned too. It's a good idea to remove any loose dust and debris with a vacuum and a soft brush before lifting the contact strip out, this reduces the likelyhood of introducing problems on other keys. I then used some isopropyl alcohol and a cotton bud on the underside of the strip and the pcb pads. Very little pressure should be used in this process, as extremely fine layers of gold are involved, it's vital for reliable contact. I prefer not to clean areas for keys which were not affected.

There may be an additional issue, if the coke really was the cause then there may also have been acid corrosion of pcb track over the years. This should be repairable though. Inspection with an illuminated magnifier is recommended, or a cheap USB microscope will do a good job too.

Personally, I would say that this really is a job for someone qualified and experienced.

Dell Latitude D600 Laptop - Freezes when battery plugged in.

Hi,

It's highly unlikely that it's the battery that's at fault here as you have already explained what has happened here.
By the sounds of what you have done it is the diet coke which has done some damage here.

It has probably seeped through the keyboard and has got onto the components that regulate the charge to the battery.

You would have to completely disassemble the laptop and clean all of the sticky coke from all the components inside the laptop. It won't work properly until you have cleaned the motherboard and all other circuit boards that connect to it.
Once it's cleaned the battery may start to charge properly again.

If you need anymore advice please post back.

Regards.

Spilled coke on my keyboard, how do we clean it

Hi

Thank you for your query

Best thing would be to get a damp cloth and simply wipe over the keyboard when the laptop is switched off, this will remove the stickyness.

Please ensure when wiping that no water travels into the keyboard which may cause you problems

Little water got spilled tried keys later they worked now hey dnt

It will continue to get worse and do a number of things. Moisture is really bad on dc pcb's. After it dries it will start to corrode. The best thing is do a full break down and remove and signs of corrosion. You may need to order a new keyboard. The long beep could indicate problems with either your ram or hard drive.

Optical l.e.d. is out

Things do not go better with Coke at least not in this case. You may have done some damage to some circuitry on top of the stickiness on the button. Unfortunately it may need to be evaluated in a computer shop as it's impossible to do anything from here.

My son has spilt coke on the laptop 1 key not working O

If you spill drinks on a keyboard, something is bound to break, and apparantly only the O key did... The only way to fix it is to get a new keyboard, I'm sorry. I hope this helps, Yannick.

Disconnect your battery and neveeeer turn it on. It must be, no power is connected to it. Then bring your unit to a authorized repairer.

Coke spilled on to the keyboard for my laptop, but i still can turn it on and the mouse will work but the keyboard won't, i took off the keyboard to dry under it and put it back together but keyboard still...

Take it to the closest computer repair shop... And have them clean your laptop... Maybe the coke short circuited something on the board, and now it doesn't work ...

Spilled coke on the touchpad and keyboard of Acer Aspire 5920

Not so sure on the touch pad, but the keyboard is easy to remove. Make sure the laptop is switched off first.
There are a series of little clips holding the keyboard on. Look along the top above the F keys you will see 3 or 4 little clips, push each of them in and up (away from the keyboard) using something thin and blunt so as not to cause any damage.
There will also be some little clips each side of the keyboard, these do not push in, you need to manoeuvre the keyboard past these.
Lift the keyboard from the top as it slots into some grooves at the bottom. There will be a ribbon cable connecting it to your laptop, this is easily undone and the keyboard is off.
