OKI C5510 MFP All-In-One Led Printer Logo
Posted on Nov 08, 2009

I´ve got a message on my oki C5510 mfp printer "Failed to get printer information - Check printer". I´ve checked all cables and everything is ok. The toner light and exclamation light staying lit and saying failed to get printer information. This was after a paper jam on fuser unit. I've removed the jam and placed back the unit and drums. and the message still . I've removed all the drums and fuser unit looking for something wrong but everything seems ok. Then I've replace them back, but problem persist.

Check the toners are not empty. The printer only estimates how much it thinks should be left, there is a possibilty one is empty. this is best done by removing each toner in turn and checking that the hopper in the drum is full to level with the sponge surrounding it. Next check are the toner sensors. These are small and located to the right of each toner cartridge in the wall of the printer, one could be dirty creating the error and not allowing the printer to start up completely, causing the scanner connection to fail and giving you "Failed to get printer information". On this model the scanner and printer are essentially separate units joined by a USB cable.

Oki C5510 'Unable to detect printer'

If you have all the led's lit and they are not flashing it means the printer is in download mode. In other words its waiting for you to download new firmware. Look at OKI's site and find the firmware and follow the instructions. That's why you cant install drivers because the printer no longer knows what it is!

How do I fix parameter or argument error

In addition to ensuring that the mail server is set to relay email for the OKI MFP, you also need to go to the Send Mail configuration page and ensure that a From address is set (even if you have already inserted a default from address in the Mail Server configuration page).

Computer cannot see Oki c5510 in network.

It's very possible that with a reboot of the printer and/or your router that DHCP assined a new IP address to the machine. Look in your router settings for the active clients and look for the IP address of the printer. Than go into your printer management within Windows, check the IP address assigned to the printer and change it to match the IP address you found on the router. It's happened to me before and it can be very frustrating.

OKI C5510 - when printing on photo paper, makes goo all over and photo does not print properly??

you must choose the thickest media type possible at the printer and on the pc. your fuser is not fusing properly causing toner to goo on the roller, changing to thick paper increases temp and slows printing to ensure bonding. some coated papers do not work well with OKI printers. you should check mnf website for specs and recommended papers types
