Sounds like either a bad driver or bad sustain module
Hi, most likely this is caused by a faulty display panel. Do you have the exact model number for the tv? Also how long have you owned it? Either way it is the best option to have the tv serviced by a professional. You can locate the nearest panasonic service center and inquire about repair at this link:

I am new to repairing tv, but a 35 year electronics and digital tech. I have repaired several plasmas and 7 or 8 lcd's. This is a new customer who did not have the model number available yet. I figure it must be the display panel but checking with someone with more experience for confirmation. What else could cause this?
