Check the connections between the cable box and the TV. If you are using scart check the connector is in squarely if using rgb or composite you need a separate audio connection using the red and white phon sockets.

8 blinks in KLV-32S400A shows Audio Error Check audio voltage supply from power supply board, if OK, replace GP Board (main board) and if audio volts are not available, check/ replace power supply board.
Had the same problem with mine.
Took off HDMI cable and used the HD cable (Red Blue and Green) for video and standard (red and white) cable for audio.
Problem gone
