Check the rubber gasket for damage or hardening and also for chipped glass on the sealing surface. Make sure the ring is not cracked causing loss of compression of the seal.

Also check that the leak is NOT at the shaft seal. Replacement parts should be readily available,

How do you remove the bottom of the blender?

A inexpensive set of security bits from Harbor Freight contains compatible screwdriver heads. There are actually 4 tamper resistant screws- two are hidden under the rear rubber anti-skid pads.

Leaks from the bottom of the glass jar. Bought a new gasket and it is worse than ever.

Are you sure you are installing the gasket correctly?

Leaks are usually the result of a misaligned or cross-threaded blender jar base or from the gasket being installed incorrectly. Make sure the gasket is installed between the blade assembly and the screw on base.

If this does not help, please reply or repost.

Putting glass and washer together

  1. Place glass container upside down on safe working area.
  2. Place rubber gasket/ring on top of opening first.
  3. Place stirring or mixing blade on top of rubber gasket/ring.
  4. Take the plastic retainer and screw it on over everything previously assemble.
  5. Hand tighten only enough that you can reverse the whole operation when comes cleaning and disassemble time.

Blender container leaks even though gasket is in place

Hey, I know this is an old thread but just had the same problem and solved it. With the blender container upside down, place the gasket on the jar hole, put the blade through the hole on top of the gasket, then screw the plastic base on top of that.

The way I had done it before was to pop the blade into the bottom of the plastic base first then screw it onto the gasket and jar but it goes on the gasket, not under the bottom of the base. Hope that helps anyone else in the future.

Also just read the manual instructions like I didn't, clear as day right there but I never bothered to read them ha

The handle to the pour spout on the bottom of the blender has broken off. So I can not put smoothee in my glass. I have to pour it in my glass for the top of cannister. Where can I get replacement parts?

If any body needs any parts for the villaware 5785 series I have everything available except the plastic smoothee container. I have the smoothee spout. If you need it I can send it to you and you can just reimburse me for the shipping after I have sent it to you. You can contact me at [email protected]. Villaware is no longer selling the smoothee container, I doubt if they are selling other parts for it.

I'm having a hard time disassembling my Kitchen Aid blender. Does the container come apart from the screw on the underside, detaching the plastic from the glass?

Have a look at the instructions here:
http://kitchenaidblenders.co.uk/KitchenAidBlenderGlassJugJarDisassembly/tabid/157/Default.aspx

This is for the glass jar which may be slightlt different.

Osterizer blender problem

Is the black plastic part, seal, and glass portion snugly fitted together? If so, it's likely that the black plastic part isn't making contact with the pin. On mine I have to turn it about a quarter turn to lock it to the motor/ drive pin.

If I have a hard object such as ice cubes too firmed placed in the blender against the blade and the glass, I shake the container to loosen the materials and reseat it onto the drive pin as mentioned above.
