I purchased the Panasonic ZS3, when I use the PhotoFun Studio software (came with thecamera) to upload the AVCHD files to my computer, I get the following :
"Removed from items to be acquired because it contains AVCHD Lite movie in a different TV system."
Should I use the TZ7 ( I am in a PAL area) or any other solution ?
Thank-you,
James
Hi, i just got the GF-1 and had the same problem.
I live in canada, but purchased the unit in HK.
What i did was when installing the software, when it prompts you for your location pick a PAL region like Australia.
Now i can import my videos =)

You need a thrid party converter.
Wondershare Video Converter Platinum is the best HD video converter and AVCHD video converter which can convert HD video and AVCHD video to avi, convert m2ts to avi, convert mts to avi, convert ts to mp4 etc.. with excellent quality.
Copying the AVCHD folder works for me (files structure intact); copying only the .mts files is asking for trouble. If you copy, make sure you're actually copying and not just making an alias. Hold Option when dragging the folder from the SD card to your hard drive. Some people mount the camera as a hard drive and then capture via FCP. This can be dangerous in case of malfunction (disconnect, etc.); the camera may be ruined. Again, copying just the AVCHD folder is the safer way to go.
I will only say that a program called AVCHD to MOV Converter is an excellent choice for converting almost any video format to almost any other video format.

The way I upload AVCHD Lite onto YouTube is transcoding them to MP4 or WMV which YouTube support natively. As for AVCHD Lite Converter, you can find a lot via google. But the program named Aunsoft. The output video is in good quality.

Most of us have problems with the "lite" mode...try motion jpeg...you'll be much happier with the results...they just take up more room.
