Can not upload the AVCHD files

I purchased the Panasonic ZS3, when I use the PhotoFun Studio software (came with thecamera) to upload the AVCHD files to my computer, I get the following :

"Removed from items to be acquired because it contains AVCHD Lite movie in a different TV system."

Should I use the TZ7 ( I am in a PAL area) or any other solution ?

Thank-you,

James

Hi, i just got the GF-1 and had the same problem.
I live in canada, but purchased the unit in HK.
What i did was when installing the software, when it prompts you for your location pick a PAL region like Australia.
Now i can import my videos =)

Copying the AVCHD folder works for me (files structure intact); copying only the .mts files is asking for trouble. If you copy, make sure you're actually copying and not just making an alias. Hold Option when dragging the folder from the SD card to your hard drive. Some people mount the camera as a hard drive and then capture via FCP. This can be dangerous in case of malfunction (disconnect, etc.); the camera may be ruined. Again, copying just the AVCHD folder is the safer way to go.

I have Panasonic Lumix GH2 and its generated vidoe files are AVCHD Lite format. I always share my photos or videos via Youtube.

The way I upload AVCHD Lite onto YouTube is transcoding them to MP4 or WMV which YouTube support natively. As for AVCHD Lite Converter, you can find a lot via google. But the program named Aunsoft. The output video is in good quality.

Hope my advice helps you.

Uploading MTS files from the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7

Are the videos in AVCHD Lite or Motion JPEG? Most computers can't handle AVCHD.....most of the time, you can only play them on an HD tv.

How to burn AVCHD Lite to DVD on Mac OS X?

AVCHD-Lite, which is a subset of the AVCHD format popularized by hard disk camcorders from Sony, Panasonic, and Canon, uses h.264 video coupled with AAC audio for recording movies. AVCHD Lite video is currently used by Panasonic DMC-ZS3, Panasonic DMC-FZ3, Sony, Cannon AVCHD Lite Camcorder, etc.
26b78f7afa860b1f_2_197_.jpg The main differences between AVCHD Lite and the regular AVCHD: a maximum resolution of 1280 x 720p in AVCHD Lite compared to 1920 x 1080p in regular AVCHD and a less-intensive compression method - both of which make the format more suitable for less powerful camera hardware.
What you need to burn AVCHD Lite to DVD on Mac OS X?
Neither of AVCHD and AVCHD Lite video is directly supported by iMovie or iDVD on Mac OS(10.6.3 Snow Leopard included) if you want to burn AVCHD Lite to DVD. There are 3rd-party solutions that work with varying degrees of success in allowing you to work with AVCHD Lite video on Mac, like Daniusoft DVD Creator for Mac . It is DVD Burner that can convert AVCHD Lite video to DVD. With it, you can add DVD menu, edit videos and pictures, add transitions and effect, etc.

Below is the step by step guide on how to burn AVCHD to DVD on Mac OS X
Step 1. Load files Just click “+” button to import AVCHD Lite files to this program or simply drag and drop them to it. And rearrange the file list by using the up-down arrows.
Tips: You can freely drag and drop the thumbnail to merge or split the video files.
Step 2. Edit files (Optional) To personalize your DVD files, you can edit the video files by clicking “Edit” button. For video files, you can crop the frame size, trim into several clips, append effects, add picture/text watermark and rotate.
Step 3. Create DVD Menu (Optional) This Mac DVD Creator also allows you to create your own DVD menu with rich selections of DVD menu template. Simply click “Menu” button to select one and set the “Frame”, “Button” and “Text” to customize your DVD menu.
Step 4. Start to burn After all necessary settings, you need to insert a blank or rewritable disc to your Mac if you want to burn video files on DVD disc. Or you can simply convert the videos to DVD folder, .dvdmedia or ISO file on your Mac for later burning.
That is it! Within several clicks, you can burn AVCHD lite to DVD easily. So, why not download Daniusoft DVD Creator for Mac for a try?
