I was able to fix my problem. Hopefully you have the same problem I had as it was only a 1 on a scale of 1 to 10 as far as difficulty to fix.

Short answer: Just pull out your oven and access the back side of the control panel and you should see the issue immediately. Should be free to fix.

Long Answer:

Get access to the back of your oven. Unscrew the two cover panels on back top of the oven. These panels give you access to the oven's control circuit board. Once the panels are removed you will see the circuit board which controls the oven. It is screwed down in a few places but the edges are merly 'snapped in' to a plastic mount. Over time pressing the 'up' button apparently was is much for the poor little plastic mount and the corner of the circuit board nearest the up button pops out. Push the card back into the mount and then reinforce the mount so the corner will not pop out again. I used a small round wood dowl that I just happened to find in the garage as a way to apply constant pressure against the mount. I put the dowl between the mount and the inside top of the oven. Not a very pretty fix but it works. Hopefully it doesn't get really hot back there. I pushed on the up button with the power on and confirmed everything was still working and then put everything back. Hope this helps. It was easy to fix.

this was SOOOOO perfect! The small brown plastic hook has only about 1/32" holding the circuit board and had just slipped off. I used a bit of stiff epoxy putty (plastic steel) between the back of the mounting clip and the box (maybe 3/8"), AFTER I pushed the circuit board back under the clip, to make sure it doesn't come out again. THANKS for this GREAT ADVICE!! I was just about to buy a new board when I didn't really have to.

Me too, I can only bake in the oven = to or
< 350° using “bake” or > 450° using “broil” on low.
    The broiler and oven
heating element are the same, so the broiler setting can be utilized to achieve
higher baking temps. Yesterday the up button started working again,
but today is no longer cooperating.
This leads me to think that it is a
connection problem rather than the panel itself being bad, and I have seen some
other posts regarding other models with similar issues that have been resolved
by cleaning the ribbon connector between the pad and the board. I am going to
attempt this solution myself before spending $150+ on a new board.

Code F1

Hello,
The F1 error code means that the computer thinks a button on the touchpad is stuck. Sometimes this can be resolved by making sure the touchpad connector fits tight into the control board. The F1 code can be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF. If it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced GENE

I have a maytag MGR4452bdw gas oven. it will not heat up above 350 degs, what's wrong? please advise

first thing to check is the ignitor, remove the racks and remove the bottom inside floor,if anything else is there remove it so you can see the ignitor, set the oven to 350,if the ignitor glows but doesn.t ignite the flame in 40 seconds change out the ignitor, the reason why i say this is if the sensor or anything else would bring up an error code.hope this helps.

MGR4452BDW Maytag Gas Range. The oven will not heat up. The burners work fine. You set the temperature and hear a click, but never get heat or smell gas.

Hi Maureen,
Strange.. I just had the same problem with my oven tonight. I have the same model as yours.
Can you tell me if you were able to solve your problem?

I have a mgr4452bdq and the oven doesnt stay lit long enough to reach temperature does the broil igniter send a signal to the valve to stay open? thanks Joe

NO THE HOTTER THE IGNITOR THE MORE CURRENT FLOWES THROUGH TO OPEN THE VALVE.SOMETIMES WHEN THE IGNITOR IS WEEK THE VALVE WONT STAY OPEN OR WONT OPEN AT ALL.IF THE IGNITOR SHUTS DOWN THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CONTROL OR SENSOR. IF IT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME ITS PROBEBLY BAD.

More button doesn't work, but less goes to 350 and under.

I have had this same problem, you have to remove the back of the unit on the control panel and push the board back into place. It is very sensitive and pops out easily. My most recent problem now is that the broiler is turning on by itself; be careful of this next issue. Not sure how to solve this yet!
