Have changed my keypad tones to "beep" but the menu tones still make a different sound which I find really annoying. Can I change the menu tones as well ? Or just silent the menu tones and not the keypad tones ?
I am no expert, but after toying and searching for two weeks, I finally found the solution. I was having the same problem. I went under settings, then accessibility. Turn off "soundback". This will disable the beep and then you can go under settings, then sound, or under your text settings to set your tones how you would normally want them.

You've probably found out by now, but I've been tearing my hair out to solve this and have finally done so today. Menu -> Settings -> Phone profiles. Then select the righthand double arrow icon for the profile you want to change (likely 'Normal' at the top). From the pulldown list at the top right, change 'Incoming...' for 'Phone sounds'. Scroll down to the bottom of the resulting screen (using the lefthand handset buttons if, like me, you have trouble scrolling) and set the 'Phone sound volume' (slider control) to '0'. Then hit 'Save at the bottom, and job done!!! Phew!!!!
To turn off the beep on the keypad beep or voice on an LG Xenon, go to menu; settings; sound; volume. From there you can raise or lower the volume or mute the keypad and other sounds.
dear smoothy, there is an option in your voice settings which says 'keypad volume'. You have to set it to minimum or zero. After that you will not hear your keypad beeps, and it will not effect your caller tone because it is altogether different option and has nothing mutual.
