The battery is probably to low. very common problem with these and many other models...hook it up to your computer via the usb cable for a few hours to get a good charge on it. then press and hold the power button for up to ten seconds.

if that fails, let me know and we can try something else, but this usually works 99% of the time

My tomtom 920 simply won't turn on, I used it yesterday and it was fine, though it did warn me that the battery is very low. I have charged it for 1hr but it still won't come on. What could be the problem...

The batery is finished, even if you plug it in the cigar lighter and the green light goes on, your TOMTOM will still not work when the batery is dead..get one real cheap on ebay.
Good luck

Does a 920-T have an automatic shutdown mode which

TomToms do not turn off the charging, regardless of whether they are ON or OFF. It should ALWAYS be charging. When you place the GPS on the dock, it should have a small green LED lighting up on the lower right. That's the indication that it is charging.
Please, verify and report back in case you need further help

I have a tomtom go 920 my sreen turns sometimes black after it flickers but it stil tells me where to go ! Is there something loose insite ?

The TomTom has a power-saving scheme. If enabled, the screen may be dimmed or turned off if you are travelling straight ahead and no left or right turns are imminent. It will come back when instructions are given.
Check the preferences and look for battery power-saving.

How to change a tomtom go 920 battery

Undo the 2 screws (Torx7) on the back of the case. This allows the top of the screen to be pulled forward by slipping a fingernail under the screen bezel and gently pulling. Move from top corner to opposite top corner of the bezel and gently ease the screen out of the case. Be careful as there are 2 plastic clip devices about two thirds down the screen. Ease these two plastic clips with your fingernails. Do not pull on the screen as it is attached via a stiff ribbon cable to the board beneath it and this board is still screwed to the case by 4 screws. By very careful manoeuvring, position the screen on each and every occasion so that all of the 4 black screws (Torx7) can be undone without pressurising the stiff ribbon cable connected to the screen unduly. This releases the board from the case, be careful with releasing the on/off switch as you ease the board out of the case. On the back of this board is the battery, a rechargeable Lithium Polymer 3.7v 1300mah. The battery is obtainable from suppliers using the internet is a good start. The battery is stuck to the back of the board, so it is a question of easing it off and replacing it. Double-sided sticky pads work well. Finally, replace the board back in the case, not forgetting to engage the on/off switch and screw-up the 4 screws. Do not over-tighten and do not put undue pressure on the stiff ribbon cable connecting to the screen. Then replace the screen gently and re-tighten the 2 screws on the back of the case. Place Tomtom 920 in it's charger for 10 hours. This is a slightly fiddly job that needs patience, care and a gentle touch. If you do not have these qualities, please don't attempt this.

Tomtom 920 bluetooth disabled

repair both ...start fresh from start.....do a hard restart on the TomTom...this is located on the last menu of your tomtom...Factory reset...it will erase recent destinations and favorites....but it usually clears the tomtom....Now try to repair both the phone and the tomtom

Tomtom Go 920 failure

The power light only shows that power is getting to the TomTom. It proves nothing else and doesn't even confirm that the internal battery is charging. If you have tried a reset ( by inserting a paper clip into the reset hole at base of your TomTom and that hasn't worked then it's likely you have blown internal components . Usually caused by faulty charger. I hope the reset works ... good luck

Tomtom one not poweringup

Lofty same just happened to me, following great deal of searching, my conclusion is that over voltage has fried regulator chip in tomtom, the reason you have green light is because at different part of power board. Approx repair cost if damage is not too bad (50% cannot be repaired) is £70.

TOMTOM will have a look for nothing, and give you a quote, if don;t want to proceed they will send it back for free also.

Good luck.
