You need an aerial connection between the two units, the aerial will plug into the eye and then the eye into the tv.The cable connects into your sky box in the one marked output 2.You then need to go into service`s on the sky box, select 4,then press 0 1 select, goto rf output and turn on.

(U.K. Question) How do I manually tune my new Smart tv to find Sky via the Red Eye?

Question edited for clarity.

Although I had Sky in the UK before I moved to Canada, I am not conversant with this infra-red device. Scanning on a television is normally reserved for over-air signals via an aerial. Picking up specific device is via HDMI inputs, via Bluetooth or via other devices that are connected to your home WiFi network that the Smart Television can see.

Watch your SKY channels on a second TV with Magic Eye and remote

If you have Sky Multi-room this will feed a separate SKY signal from your LNB on your dish to a second SKY box if you have the basic this will not cost you anything you still need a card inserted in the front to make this work. I think it costs £5 extra for more channels.

So if you have SKY + you will have 3 coaxial cables coming out of your LNB. ( 2 for the SKY + and 1 for the Multiroom )

To ger the signal for free the easy way is to connect a coaxial cable from the RF2 output on the back of the SKY ot SKY+ box into another TV and use a SKY Magic Eye these cost about £5 and have a range of about 20 meters. You can use a coaxial splitter to feed two TV but you will loose more signal the more you connect.

You will need to turn this function on using the hidden menu to allow you to use the Sky Remote control then LED on the unit will show you that there is a signal.

Press <SERVICES> <4> <0> <1> <SELECT> and goto the RF2 output to turn the signal on you might find that this signal is already turned ON for you.

Note: If you are using a multiplex faceplate unit this signal will not work as it relies on continuity of the coaxial cable with a 12V DC signal being sent out of the back of the SKY Box.

For all setups changing you Box model or adding an extra box SKY must to this for you by having your phone line connected so they can reprogram your Smart Card.

HITACHI 55HK6100U SMART TV REMOTE CONTROL CAUSES INTERFERENCE ON PICTURE

There is a post about this issue on the AVI blog. There are several people that have had the issue. No one claims a fix for it though. Seems to be related to HDMI cables and how close they are to the remote extender runs.

Hi Jim, your nearly there, all you need to do is go into the tv menu and move from DTV to the old type channel numbers and then find the bit where you can manually tune the tv to channel 68.
Have a sky menu picture running and you will see it come in.

Just installed a sky magic eye to my digital tv upstairs, works perfect. however I have now lost all my digital channels!!

Hi

If you have installed a sky magic eye, i am assuming you have taken a sky feed from the RF outlet of the back of the sky box to view sky in another room, if this is the case, this is an analogue feed which you would have to tune in manually to the second tv, this would suggest that you havent lost the digital signal you just have you second tv selected on analogue. On the assumption your system is connected like the following;

Sky box connections

Main aerial input
sky sat input
rf out to second tv

Have lost the link from sky+ to a second tv which was tuned to sky via channel 5 and majic eye on annolog since re tuning i cannot receive sky on second tv

Hello K Agate,

In the main room where the Sky + is locate. With the sky remote press the following.

Services.
4
0,1,select
4 (rf)

Ensure that the RF power to set to on, and take a mental note of the channel number the RF is set to. I normally set this to 38 it is upto you.

Now check that the coax lead that links the sky+ box to the 2nd room is plugged into RF out 2 on the back of the sky+ box.

Now go into the other room and make sure that there is a red LED light on your magic eye. If there is then great. If not there may be a fault with you eye. A good way to check this would be to connect it straight into the back of you Sky+ RF OUT 2 port. This would also check to see if there is any fault with the coax cable feeding the other room.

Assuming that there is a Red LED light on the eye when its plugged into the back of the TV in the other room (not the one with the sky box in), This means that there is power getting to it from the Sky + box.
Put your sky box on the TV GUIDE screen. This will make tuning it in a lot easier.

in the other room with your tv remote press the following
Channel 6 or which ever number you want it on.(analogue)
then MENU on the remote.
Go to MANUAL STORE
Then if you go down to where it give you a C ** number just type in what you retrieved from the sky RF menu.
That should bring your sky up then all you need to do now is STORE.
That should be you all sorted out now.

Hope all goes well. If so then please leave a Thumbs up

Sky magic eye not working on hd

I work for Sky as an Engineer.

on your Sky HD remote:

service,
4,
0 1 select
4
make sure the power is turned ON

now go to the room you can not change the sky channels over with.
you should notice on the magic eye itself should now have a Red led light on it now. you should now be able to change the channel over just remember to press the blue sky button on the remote at the top otherwise this will not operate the sky box.

If not unplug this magic eye and try this directly into RF out 2 to make sure that its not the magic eye that is at fault. If it is working correctly then the light will appear.

Hope this helps

Stopped receiving sky on second tv - does my samsung need a reset

I install a lot of magic eyes etc.

You have checked that the magic eye lights up when it is connected directly into the sky box. So your eye is working correctly.

the next step I would take is with your sky remote in your main room. press SERVICES, 4, 0,1, SELECT go to RF settings and check the rf channel and make sure the power is on. Take a mental note of the channel number.

Now go into the room where the link is feeding. Turn on the TV and go to channel number 6 press your MENU button and then go down to setup. go across to manual install and then down to the channel number type in what you retrieved from you box ie rf channel and then type it in and STORE.

If you go into your main room and just put the normal tv guide on ie blue screen. then check that your getting the sky into the other room. IF you are then great it just needed tuning in. IF not I would remake the coax connectors. as there may be a bit of copper braid touching the centre core. once this is done your sky should be on all you need to do now is put the eye back on. Once you have done this the red light should appear on your magic eye. if not go to your main box and follow the first instructions I gave you and turn the power off on the RF and then save and then go back in and turn it back on and save.

Hope this sorts out your problem

Cheers

make sure the rf is set to on
Remember the channel rf number,

go to your television the link is to.
go to menu then setup and then manual tune
select the channel you want to view sky on. normally channel 6 on your analogue
then go to Channel type in whatever the rf setting was on your main sky box then press save.

that is your telly sorted out. if you have a magic eye connected at the link end you should see a red led light lit up.
if not remove the magic eye and connect it straight into the back of your sky box RF2
just to make sure that the eye is not at fault.

hope this helps
ill check in a day or two to see if you need more help.
