My frigidaire gallery dryer stopped tumbling. My husband has it to where it will tumble.. until we put clothes in it.

Either the drum bearings are in bad condition (front outer edge and center rear of the drum), the belt is in poor condition from the heat, or the belt tension device (a tension spring or idler pulley bearing) is not working correctly. This can be accessed from the lower rear. If the belt is bad, the front panel must be removed to allow the belt to pass over the drum.

Hello Denise, I have seen this problem many times. The sneakers by themselves in the dryer cause a shock effect , when the weight of the sneakers tumbling onto the drum overloads the skinny belt and the belt breaks every time. Usually. if you dry the sneakers along with other clothes or towels this will not happen.

Dryer will not stop running
Your machine may have a feature called wrinkle guard or wrinkle shield, which basically keeps tumbling the clothes without heat to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Turn that feature off and see if that does the trick.

The belt driveing the drum has probably broken. The tumble action is essential to proper and safe drying of clothing. It will need to be replaced.

Frigidaire combo washer/dryer screws inside come off
The drum shaft came loose from drum. You can YouTube it for procedure of disassembly of dryer. Remount shaft, if screws are bad may need new shaft with screws, make sure it is tight to drum. While you have it apart you can clean out lint.
