There is no function button on this camera - I can find a protection section in the menu!! It lets you unprotect the photos but you still can't delete the photos via the pc - only via camera

To delete all or just one of the pics on the memory card -- go to the play mode and use the Q Menu on the very bottom right -- you can select your choice from there.

In play you can also go to Menu and Protection and select if you want all or one photo protected.

Hope that helps!
Took me a while to figure it out!

I took the photo card out of my Lumix and slotted it into the picture card socket of my laptop. You can simply delete photos this way (which will not delete by just downloading from camera by cable connection).

Panasonic DMC-155 camera no longer uploads photos to PC

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

The problem is in a digital camera Panasonic Lumix model FS5. When I start the camera appears a message that say: Please turn camera off and the then on again. When I restart the camera this message...

Sounds like you're experiencing a lens error. The camera is having difficulty extending the lens. Unfortunately, many cameras that fall prey to lens error problems can only be corrected by professional repair. But, here are some last resort troubleshooting steps that you can try that may correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try.

I have distorted sound when I play back videos.

I have the same camera but you do not say where the distorted sound is coming from. The sound on playback of videos from the camera is distorted because it has a tiny speaker without volume. Try listening via the PC and it should be better. But remember the camera is really made for taking photos, video and mono sound is just a sideline with limitations.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 cant upload photos!!

Did your friend use the "safely remove hardware" function when removing your card from her computer? That could corrupt your card if she didn't. Try this...take your card to a store like Walmart that has a Kodak picture kiosk. They can usually read everything on a card. There, you can print the pics or even make a cd of them. Afterwards, format your card in your camera.

It is necessary to update your antivirus regularly.
