Display is blinking and compressor does not sound like it is working. Also, the divider between the two doors was very hot and now not. That area has also turned yellow and the plastic has cracked in many places.

Hello, sounds like the problem here may be a bad compressor relay or compressor. Do you hear a clicking noise coming from the compressor? if so remove the relay which is mounted to the side of the compressor and give it a shake, if it rattles you have a bad relay if it does not rattle you have a bad compressor and should call a service guy. If you have any other questions please feel free to comment. Mike

Kitchenaid KSCS23IN Burning Hot Divider Wall then No Compressor, No Fan, No Cold Can Hear Clicking

The clicking is caused by the clixon turning off power to over heated motor that is not starting. Check the condition of the starter cap or relay and change. If a good cap or relay does not start your compressor then the rotor is frozen and you need a new compressor. (ouch)

The center of the fridge where the doors seal is very hot. Took of back cover, coolant lines are extremly hot compressor making buzzing sound.

Hello,

When you were at the back behind the compressor did ya notice that the fan thier by the compressor was running, what will make that center divider bar very hot (it's normal to be warm) is due to the fan by the compressor not running or the coil also near the compressor being clogged with dust. So check that fan and replace if not running and also be sure to clean that coil free of all the dust ( the coil should be cleaned every 6 months as normal maintiance)

My samsung rs2630sh is very very hot to the touch

The fan you should replace is called the condenser fan. It's the one that blows air across the outside coils. When it fails, you'll usually notice abnormal heating of the front of the divider between freezer and fridge.

Ice melts, then refreezes. Rubber Is HOT

Pull the refrig out , and remove the back panel . Is the fan that cools the compressor working ? Is the coil roll clean ? If the fan is not working , then the problem is probably the main control board . Behind the 8"X10" panel , above the compressor area . Remove the cover , and look for a burnt resistor , just to be safe . If this fan does not work , then the coils and the refrigerant line running between the doors , will get very hot .

Door frame is always hot on freexer side

Is it hot all the way around, or just on the face of the divider between the freezer and fridge? If it's just the divider, then it's probably not a defrost problem. When that divider gets hot, it usually means there is inadequate air flow over the condenser coils outside the unit.

When the compressor is running, check for air blowing under the unit. If no air is moving, then you probably have a failed condenser fan. If the fan is running, then use your vacuum cleaner to clean the coils, and make sure there is space behind the fridge for air to flow.

My fridge freezer GR359SQ is making a constant buzzing noise and is hot to the touch round door area and the side.

The hot touch around the door area is normal. Buzzing sound can come from anything in and around the compressor. A slight bend of tubing can change this. Feel around the compressor while it is running and you may notice a change in the sound which is caused by resonant frequency in the routing of the tubing or mounting of the compressor. Hope this helps

Divider between freezer and fridge is hot to the touch

That is not a problem, it is designed to use "waste heat" from the cooling system to warm this area to prevent condensation from forming there without having to use the extra energy required if an electric heater were used. It will be noticeably warmer while the compressor is running and has been running for a time than if the compressor has been off for a period of time.

We have a Kenmore 596.50399001 side by side refrigerator. The center divider can get very hot, the refrigerator compressor is running but not the fan. If the refrigerator is moved or shook the fan will...

If you are talking about the freezer fan motor, it should be running if the compressor is running.
if the compressor runs without the fan running the compressor will overheat and become damaged.
The mullion heater in the door divider is not affected by the compressor.

Service light is blinking & rubber trim is hot

usually when the center divider is hot to the touch, it means that the compressor is running hot. either your compressor fan is not running or it is stuck or running too slow. Joe

Kitchenaid Side by side refrigerator/freezer

when is the last time you cleaned the condenser coils the areas you describe are supposed to be hot there is a loop there to keep the door gaskets dry but should not be too hot pull the fridge out check to see if the fan is running on the compressor then unplug the unit and clean the coils the only other thin that will make it super hot if there is a leak in the low side of the system and has drawn air in see if cleaning the coils fixes it first and we will go from there
