Kenmore dryer 75731 won't tumble. It heats fine. We can move it pretty easily, but no matter which cycle it is on, it doesn't tumble on its own. Thanks for any help.

Hi.

The machhine is belt driven check the belt first.

If the motor is must be tested energizing it.

In all cases test the lid switch to ensure it is not opening contact when machine starts tumbling.

The wiring harness to motor must be tested.

If there is no other fault elsewhere, replace the timer board.

Start from the belt, if the machine is heating, then it is probably a broken belt.

Kenmore Gas Dryer Model 75731 Dryer Won't Heat

The orange glow is the ignitor. If the ignitor is glowing but the gas does not light then the flame sensor may have to be replaced. If the gas ignites but does not stay on either the flame sensor or the coils are at fault.

Dryer won't heat--element replaced; tumbles fine

Before you purchase any more parts, you should have use of a multi meter. If the dryer is not heating at all, and of the following parts could be bad.......Operating (cycling) thermostat, high limit thermostat, thermal fuse, timer, or motor centrifugal switch. All but the motor switch can be easily checked with the dryer UNPLUGGED using the ohms feature of the meter.
