The unit isn't really freezing up.... you can verify this by pressing the on/off button quickly. If you hear a beep, it's not locked up. The touchscreen is intermittent. Please check your units serial # to see if it begins with a "12P", "14V" or "143". These units have a style of touchscreen that is known to fail, even without any physical damage to the glass. Your blower fan is not working. Check the fuse for it - if power is reaching the motor and still no operation, then the motor needs to be replaced.

Why is the water coming into my icemaker i freezing up and not allowing water to get in ice tray

It sounds like the defrost cycle isn't working. If this is an older electro-mechanical model, the 1st thing to suspect is the defrost timer. They're not too expensive and usually easy to replace.

If it's a newer 'electronic' model, then it's very likely the cheap chinese control board (motherboard) has gone bad. However, replacements are NOT cheap to purchase, and may be more difficult to replace.

Other parts that could be suspect in the defrost cycle are the heating element and thermistor, and possibly the cold control. If you don't know what or where these are, it's best to just call in a technician.

Hi,

I am having the same problem with my Corsa but it does not make any funny noises, it just sometimes wont start first thing in the morning and then is fine for the rest of the day.

Did you find out what was the problem with your vehicle? Did you resolve it?

Any other ideas please anyone

Small drop of antifreeze every morning just under new water pump.

If there is dye in the system, use a black light and look over the entire engine and cooling system. Besides obvious things also look over the entire engine block. There are freeze plugs on the engine block that are designed to "pop" if the coolant ever freezes to prevent engine block damage. These plugs can develop small leaks. This is barring any more likely minor leaks in the the hoses, radiator, reservoir, or other places coolant is circulated like the heater core.
