First off... did the water spill on the keyboard or did it go underneath the bottom case? I've heard of people drying out their batteries, but usually it's very rare that they would work in serious cases. If it spilled on the keyboard and was a susbstantial amount of liquid, I think you might have damaged your systemboard.
Any hope you may have left other than an expensive repair, is to remove the battery and leave the unit in an airing cupboard for a week and pray. Then replace the battery and try again. No change - then nothing lost. I know it's basic, and best done as soon as the damage was done, but has worked for me in similar circumstances. Don't be tempted to use a warm oven.
