The phone is locked and needs to be sim unlocked. Somtimes if you are in good standing with the carrier, they will give you the unlock code for free. If thats no the case, find a local indendent cellphne shop, and im sure they can unlock it for $20 to $40. If you cant find anyone local to do, check my profile and im sure we can help you out
