Monitor screen turns off, and has o be turned off

Monitor screen turns off (has power light... but no screen light) and has to be turned off and then on with the power button every 5-20 secondsto turn the screen back on. Driver has been re-downloaded with no help.

This is a problem with the power supply unit inside the monitor, there is no easy way out here. If you keep on using your monitor like this eventually it won't switch on no matter how long you wait. Keep on using it like this for the time being without switching off anything but ultimately you will have to take it in for repairs or otherwise purchase a new screen..

Base on the information given to me.

I think your computer is on sleeping mode.

first thing check if the video cable is not loose connecting the pc.

because what would happend, if it is loos it would turn on and off at times.

The other thing you can do.

right click on the desktop.
go to properties
go to screen saver
click on power

adjust the time you want your monitor to shut off.

Assuming you've already checked your driver and system settings, tried a different monitor, and checked the cable and connector pins, this would almost certainly be a problem with the power or signal circuit board inside the monitor.
