Hi.

If the machine is draining well, but does not advance to spin, and you can only complete the cycle by manually advancing the knob to the end, then there it is often a fault concerning the motor control unit (motor control board or MCU), or the variable speed motor.

The motor is tested energizing it at different speed.

The MCU is tested reading volts from CCU (control board) and volts to motor.

Both test must be done by a technician.

You can book a repair calling the number listed on the owner manual.

Here a general diagram to locate parts, also parts available from same website.

Hi,

Follow the below Guide :-

It pumps, but doesn't spin

If your washer pumps out the water but doesn't spin, check these: The lid switch may be defective. If it is, the washing machine doesn't spin. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need to replace it.

The motor coupler may be broken. Many Whirlpool®-manufactured washers use a small, relatively inexpensive motor coupling. It's plastic and rubber and is mounted to the shaft of the motor on one side, and to the transmission on the other. Over time, the coupler wears out and fails. You may need to replace it.

A belt may be broken. Many washing machines have one or two belts. If a belt is broken or badly worn, you need to replace it with a genuine belt from the manufacturer. (Some washing machine belts are designed with special characteristics not found in automotive belts.)

The clutch may be worn. If your washer is a GE, it may use a clutch to come up to the proper spin speed. As the clutch wears out, it may prevent the unit from spinning well or at all. If the clutch is worn, you need to replace it. For this job, you probably want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician.

The drive motor may be defective. Many washer brands use a reversing motor. For agitation the motor runs in one direction, for spinning and draining, the other. It's possible for a motor to burn out in one direction and continue to operate in the other. If this happens, you need to replace the entire motor.

The transmission may not be shifting properly. Older washers produced by Whirlpool® have a transmission with an electro-mechanical shifter. If the shifter becomes even partially defective, the unit may drain the water but not spin. This is a complex system, if your washer has a shifter problem, you may want to hire a qualified appliance repair technician to repair it.

The spin bearing or basket drive may be worn or seized. These components allow the inner tub to spin freely inside the outer tub. When this is the problem, you usually hear a loud sound during the spin cycle. Call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hi, I have a LG Tromm WD-14331AD. At the start of the wash cycle, water will dispense, but not a lot. When spinning, there is hardly any water in the drum and water just stops dispensing.

A front loader only uses a very small amt of water. That's the point of front loaders. Make sure u only use a very small amt of detergent also. And use white vinegar in place of fabric softener. If washer is slow to fill you can check the filters in the supply lines. Take the water lines off the back of the washer and check the filters in the washer

My LG WD-10485TP will not spin. The drain pump just keeps pumping even though it is practically empty. I have replaced the pressure switch, cleaned all the internal piping and put it in test mode and it...

It sounds as if the machine's main control board is faulty due to the drain pump running continuosly, as the only real problems causing a no spin scenario is the door latch or the Rotor assembly.
The only way to "reset" the machine is to disconnect the supply lead from the mains supply for a couple of minutes, then try again.

LG Washer WD 80490TP, At Spin Cycle not Spinning, seems to,start and then stop takes about a half hour to count down the 8 minutes of cycle, without spinning the clothes. Clothes are still wet

Pull the bottom panel off (if don't have access to the drain pump) and open the pump. I'll bet it's clogged.
Washers won't spin if they can't get all the water out...hope this helps.

Hi, I have an LG 1412RD washer dryer. I received the DE error message so opened the front to access the door lock and plugged in the electric socket which seemed loose. Now I am getting the OE message...

http://www.lg.com/au/support/product/support-product-profile.jsp?customerModelCode=WD-1412RD&matchedModelCode=NOT_MATCHED&searchEngineModelCode=WD-1412RD&initialTab=documents&targetPage=support-product-profile#
Owners manual above. LG washing machine error code – OEThe LG error code OE simply means “the pump is blocked”. Presumably the water isn’t being emptied properly. As with all error codes it is possible that there is a cause other than the exact description in the error code explanation but basically this error means as far as the washing machine is concerned it thinks the water isn’t pumping out. A pump, or filter blockage is the most common cause but it could be caused by other faults such as a faulty pump, or even a blockage in the drain hose or somewhere else in the system etc.

Not draining water!

Some hard object may have damaged the pump impellers. Take the hose off the pump and use a flashlight to look into the suction port on the pump. Look for anything clogging the pump and check the pump impeller for broken/missing blades and make sure that the impeller spins freely. If any blades are missing/broken or if you cannot get the impeller to spin freely, the pump is defective. Hopefully it is just something clogging the pump. Also check the drain line for clogs while it is off the pump. Hope this helped and best wishes.

sounds like whoever changed the pump has made a hash of the wiring, get them back to it.
