On my samsung s5200 phone, the privacy lock works on messages when you access it from the main menu. However, when i click on the okay tab for the customised menu, the privacy lock dosent work on the inbox tab which is pinned to the custom menu.

Samsung cell phones come with many security features.
In addition to the common feature of preventing calls after a period of inactivity, some Samsung phones also allow you to prevent others' use of your phone's SIM chip and access to your files.
One password unlocks the various locks, except for two other passwords used for the SIM chip. The syntax of the menu items to click to reset a password differ somewhat between Samsung models but you can figure out roughly how to apply instructions for one phone to another.

Lock the phone from making calls by clicking "Start" or "Menu," "Security Settings" (or "More" and then "Security"), and "Phone Lock" or "Device Lock."
Change the password by clicking "Start" or "Menu," "Security Settings," and "Change Password." Then enter a new password.

Set the phone to work only with the current SIM chip by clicking "Menu," "Security Settings," and "SIM Lock."
Enter a new password when prompted.

Prevent unauthorized use of your SIM card by clicking "Menu," "Security Settings," and "PIN Lock." Type a new PIN when prompted.

Prohibit access to your files, messages and contact list by clicking "Menu," "Security Settings," and "Privacy Lock."

Reset the file lock/messages/contact password by resetting the phone lock password, as in

on ur phone,click the mesage,click the settings,click the general settings,click the block messages,click the option and delete the blocked numbers to unblock them. reply me if this works

Yes it does. If you click on Menu, go to settings, go to security, and click Privacy Lock, then you can select which items you want to lock.

if that will not work then try

To unlock a Samsung turn the phone off take the sim card and type the following code *#pw+15853649247w# .

You should be able to reset this by turning on the phone without the SIM card inside, then entering *2767*2878# and waiting for the phone to reset. Once it starts up, the code should be gone from the phone and you should be able to get into it again.

okay what you can do....is eprom it by pressing *2767*2878#.....this will also blank all data you had save on the phone.
