Red light indicates that the battery is out of charged., Now if th ebatetry is out of charged there will be no chances for you to connect it using your computer., C530 will not charged using the USB cable., try to charged the batetry or purchase new sets of battery

I turn my camera on, the green light blinks then the light turns to red blinking then the camera shuts off. What's wrong? Batteries are fine. Also happening with my Kodak EasyShare C530

Red light indicates that the battery is out of charged
are you using the recommended battery the (KAA2HR or Ni-MH). If yes make sure that your charger is working fine.

now if your charger is working fined the second you need to do is to recondition the battery or purchased new KAA2HR battery it means that the chemical content on the said battery is already crystallized., this is also applies to your C530 since their using dame battery

KODAK eASYSHARE c530 BLACK SCREEN DOES NOT TAKE PICTURE

You may still be able to take pictures with your black screened Kodak camera. This problem occurs in the line of Kodak EasyShare digital camera models.

When you turn on your Kodak EasyShare digital camera, turn off the LiveView function. Take a picture using the small-windowed viewfinder (this is not the LCD screen). Also, try zooming in and out.

After taking a picture, review the picture to see if the picture has been taken. Then turn on LiveView and occasionally the LCD screen should no longer be showing a black screen.

Memory Card Requires Formatting

Hey B418,
Formatting will delete all your pictures on your camera or memory card. The camera might be prompting you to format because the the camera's memory is full. To avoid losing your pictures I would connect your camera to a computer, download your images to your computer first, and then format the memory.

Sincerely,
Allan

Red light in front :[[[

I had a similar situation with two of my C530's, one would only come on with the front red light (above the lens) flashing twice and then staying on solid red (regardless of the dial position). The other would turn on, but the LCD display would turn almost white and all pictures would be white.

Make sure you have good batteries, remove them from the camera, put them back in (make sure the dial is in OFF position before you insert the batteries) and with one finger put pressure on the top of the camera between the dial and viewfinder. Don't use excessive force, as not to crack the case, but put some pressure on it and as your squeezing it, turn the camera ON (Auto, Movie or View). This worked for both of my cameras, on one I have to do this one once in a while, the other I'll be taking apart to find out what's going on under the case.

Troubleshooting

Hi
I've just solved the problem. It's the batteries, having called Kodak tech support they told me to use CRV3 AA lithium batteries instead of alkaline. Issue for me fixed.
