The laptop needs pc100 not 133 ram. it may be able to work on 133 but if you already have a pc100 stick in there it wont boot up. but all the recommended ram is only pc 100 and the Maximum it supports total is 512 mb

PC66 SDRAM PC66 SDRAM is the original module speed of SDRAM. PC66 SDRAM was the earliest version of SDRAM and therefore came in a number of smaller megabyte sizes than later versions. Most early motherboards were rated for PC66 SDRAM. The available sizes are 32MB (megabytes), 64MB and 128MB. PC100 SDRAM
PC100 SDRAM was released after PC66 SDRAM and runs at a higher speed. It has the same number of pins as the earlier memory module and is capable of utilizing the same RAM slot. The only difference when installing this SDRAM in compatible computers with older systems (PC66 slots) is that the SDRAM will run at a slower speed. PC100 RAM comes in sizes such as 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 256MB and 512MB. PC133 SDRAM
The last generation of SDRAM is PC133. The PC133 memory provided a speed upgrade and comes in larger sizes than previous generations of SDRAM. PC133 modules are backward compatible with older SDRAM slots. The PC133 memory, however, will be forced to run at the slot's slower bus speed (PC66 or PC100). The memory comes in sizes like 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1024MB.
hi normally if your system came with 100mhz ram that is all it will take as this has been specifically designed for that mhz of ram so i do not think that the 133mhz ram will work, all tho it is cheap enough to buy now, it might be worth giving it a try you will not damage anything doing so, but i think you will find that it will not work....hope this helps
First make sure the memory is the same PC 100 , then make sure the chips are fully seated. and try rebooting computer. If you mismatch the Dimms the memory wont be recognized by the computer.
Hold on a second.. I have fixed a number of T21's and I recall that these units are super anal about the type of RAM they use. I am pretty sure that they require PC100 and will not accept PC133.
One second.... Ok, I just opened up my T21 and it has FRU 20l0255 which is PC 100. Here is a link to the specs. I have tried using PC133 and the same think happens - just does not boot. Nothing.
It wont work, it will hang ur system. Ur motherboard supports but using Mutli-frequencies RAM is not possible, either u use SDRAM 512 BM PC133 or ur 64/128 PC100 RAM, You cant use all together.
I would guess that you need PC 133. Some manufactures that were using SDram at the time required PC133 while others would require but allow you to use PC100.
This is the requirement for your laptop from www.crucial.com
Each memory slot can hold SDRAM, PC133 with a maximum of 256MB per slot.*
Since this is an older machine, the performance can't be boosted very much. The maximum performance you can get from this machine is 1ghz processor, with 512mb RAM. The 1ghz processor is the biggest processor that is compatible, and unfortunately, the system is base on a 100mhz frequency rating, so PC100 memory is the only compatible memory available. The maximum chip size in PC100 is 256mb, they just don't make them any bigger, so 2x256mb=512mb RAM. As far as the hard drive, it is an IDE drive, and you can get an IDE drive up to 120gb. These are very good and durable machines, just slow, so if you can deal with the lower level of performance, this machine will last years. Also, these are upgradeable to XP pro, but not Vista.
May be, it depends on the frequency rating of the processors. The 800 is most likey a PC133, if the i-series is a PC133 machine then it will work, however, if it's a PC100 machine, it will not. You will just have to try try it.
