Bosch Nexxt 100 series washer wfmc1001uc

The door on my washer is locked! I loaded the washer, put in detergent, closed the door and tried to start the cycle. Apparently some items were in the door, so the Door Lock light didn't come on, and it buzzed. I turned the dial to Off. I opened it, repositioned the items, and closed the door. When I tried to start a new cycle, the Wash / Spin / Finished lights started flashing and the bell sounded. I can't open the washer, and can't start a new cycle (the Start / Pause) button isn't active. I called Bosch and they had no idea what to do - told me to call a local servicer. There has to be a simple answer!

So if I unplug the washer, pulling the door open won't damage it?

  • ajwc Jan 11, 2008

Sorry, but the door won't budge. I'm sure it isn't damaged - I did a load just before this happened. I unplugged it and applied a lot of force - no movement. I also put a slim tool in the opening in the lock, but that doesn't move it either. Other ideas?

One of your other technicians told me to unplug the machine and try to force the door open. This thing isn't going anywhere - and it really looks like force will damage it.

Eureka! That worked! The only thing I did differently was turn the selector to a wash cycle - it didn't do anything on Drain/ Spin, probably because the cycle hadn't started yet. So I turned it to a wash cycle, held down Start/Pause, and it started filling with water. THANKS!

According to the manual, you have to:

1. Turn program selector to "off"
2. Turn selector to Drain or Spin
3. Press the start / pause

Wait until program ends.

Open door.

or

Press "start / pause" until the start / pause light flashes.

Manual release on door lock of a bosch nexxt series 100 washer

Try pulling door up before out. My washer does this when the rubber around the door gets a piece of wet paper under it, or I have overloaded it and the rubber gets moved. Once open, run your fingers around the rubber seal to verify nothing under it and that it lays smooth.

Bosch nexxt series 100 washer. washer willnot start three beeps and all the lights are on.

Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

It sounds like a bad door latch/lock. It will require you to remove the front door seal spring to gain access to the part.

If this sounds like something you can repair I'll try and help in whatever manner I can or you may opt to call a pro.

Let me know how it goes and if you require further assistance. Thanks for choosing FixYa. Good luck

Yes.
Child lock active.
Hold start button 10 seconds.
Then it will deactivate.

If this is not the case, door lock fault or main board fault.

There are safety devices that can prevent you opening the door or lid while the washer is spinning or agitating. This is for your protection, so don't circumvent these safety devices but after running a load and the door remains locked press reset button on control panel if it persist make sure the timer is properly set test timer if faulty replace check the lid switch remove detergent build up from orifice if any test switch it might be faulty then replace dont forget to rate this solution
