I have java script turned on and the lastest version of flash player but I still keep getting the message about having script turned off and the old version of flash player etc. What else can i do?

One of you has a scripting problem.
When you type a message and 'send' it, you should be able to read it in the upper conversation window. When you receive a message, it should be visible in the Conversation window.
If this is the case the fault lies with your contact's computer.

Email this to them:
You may have scripting disabled in your Internet Explorer.
To enable scripting:

Click "Tools"
Click "Internet Options."
Click "Security" tab.
Click "Custom Level" button.
Scroll down to "Script ActiveX controls marked safe for scripting"- enable
Scroll down to "Scripting - Active scripting" - enable
Scroll down to "Scripting of Java applets" - enable
Click OK
Click OK
Restart Internet Explorer
Still not working ? Update software

After updating, check if you do not have Old Versions of Flash player, Shock wave player and Java running alongside the latest/newest - these can cause conflicts
Start / control panel / programs/
now delete any old versions.

You may not have Internet Explorer as your default browser but it still plays an important part in the operation of Yahoo Messenger. It sits as a link between your browser and Yahoo Messenger.
For this reasson you must keep it up to date and the support software for IE as well.

Keep your software up to date by using an update checker

You will have 2 versions if you have 2 browsers so be careful not to delete them.

use the later version of yahoo messenger then 7 and before the latest one

download the lastest flash playe and latest java, instructions here to make sure everything is turned on

Java is your first problem get rid of that malware... second problem is you don't have a mac, haha, just kidding, but seriously get one.
To answer your question, I would try uninstalling your add ons 1 or 2 at a time to see which one will fix er back up. If that does not work, get Revo uninstaller from download.com and use it remove firefox (and java) completely. You can download the newest version any time for free. Personally I dont like a lot of background processes so I use the portable version of firefox which is also free.

I would make sure that you have the lastest version of JAVA Script downloaded. If the problem continues, then I would let Yahoo know of the problem. I have had the same issue before and downloaded the latest version of JAVA and it worked fine, however some friends have had problems that persisted.

If you have no java runtime environment or have not been updated, you can update java and try this link.http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp. And I have flash player 8 which was downloaded together with the macromedia dreamweaver. You can search that in google and request for a dwonload.

I tried many things other than turning Java Script on, I think it's the option to allow the on site video player to run. Then I restarted my computer and it works. As I told I'm not sure it's that because I tried many things. Maybe youtube needs the option.
