Element tv flx 2210
I can turn the tv on with the remote and I can "mute" the tv, but I can not do anything else. The tv also does not respond to the buttons on the tv itself- power off, ch, up/down. the only way to turn off the tv is too unplug it. any thoughts
Try this website to get an original remote.1-800-Remotes Factory original.Still same prob. got a new remote, than the tv pannel control board it dead.
Well okay!
couple of questions?
1) Is a multi remote - does it or can it control other components like a DVD player or a VHS or Cable box?
2) If it does - you may have selected one of these other components to control
NOTE: Try depressing the TV button and then try the other buttons such as channel or volume to see if it's back working.

The issue with these newer TV's is they haven't been tested for longevity. Older TV's lasted over 10 years easy. These new tv's lcd or plasma's generate a great deal of heat and are in a very small space to of course keep the TV Flat as possible.
One of two things I beleive. Possibly a control chip's solder has broken loose, due to heat or the chip is just defective.
A good thought is that it still could be bad capacitors. A cap is like a small battery. if it doesn't hold it's 5 Volt or 12 Volts it won't pass on the appropriate voltage to the chip it's sending the voltage too in order for the chip to work correctly.
Hope this helps. I've seen many of these types of capacitors with their tops blown all the way off and the paper stuffing blown out. Just like the old noise makers when you pulled the string.
now i'm giving you Too much information. sorry!

Please - Call around and get their prices and see what they can offer.
Not all T/V Repair shops are the same.
The smaller TV repair shops may be a better bet than the larger Big Box stores.

That is not the problem. I mean the buttons on the tv itself- on the side of the monitor. When I press those buttons, nothing happens.
However, I am using the Element remote that came with the tv.
Is it worth replacing the tv panel control board? Or Can it even be replaced? How does it go bad? The tv is only 2 years old. Thanks for your help!
Thanks. That sounds way beyond my scope. I guess I will take it to the tv repair store.
