are you using an HDMI cable? is it a cheap thin cable or heavy duty?
HDMI cables carry sound but it's possible you don't have it seated completely or it's a cheap cable. or your audio settings on your TV are not set to HDMI if that's the cable you're using. try running your audio setup on the TV Menu.
It may be a firmware issue if hdmi works with other items such as playstation.
If no hdmi the main Pcb hdmi ports are bad and the main Pcb would have to be replaced.
Consumers cannot upgrade the firmware so a shop would be the only option.
Problem your tv isnt true 1080p meaning it will not work however when you switch to componet cables goto menu then change the display settings to 720p or 1080i then your HDMI connection should work fine.
I have a LG plasma and I am trying to connect my PC via VGA and I am getting the "Invalid Format" - can you please tell me what is the problem? Thank you
When using the HDMI connections you may have to tell the DVD to output to that port. Also you may have to connect additional sound cables from the DVD output to the TV.
It sound like the cable box or the Blue ray player is set to high - such as 1080P when the set is only rated at 720 - try scaling the output down and see if that helps
