Why am I getting error message saying: Microsoft Feeds Synchronization has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. AppName: msfeedssync.exe, AppVer: 8.0.6001.18702, ModName: user32.dll, ModVer: 5.1.2600.2180, Offset: 0000bbcd
This is a problem with Microsoft's RSS Feed Reader. As most people use a different Reader (or don't use RSS at all) this can be disabled. Please follow the instructions below to disable it.
Open Internet Explorer.
Click Tools>>then Internet Options.
Click on the Content tab.
At the bottom, under the Feeds section, click Settings.
Uncheck all boxes and click OK.
Click OK to close the window.
Close Internet Explorer and reopen.
Have you tried the "Feeds and Web Slices" settings
options?

Antivirus and firewall prevent msfeedssync to connect.
You can use next 3 solutions (hope this help you):
NOTE: Before using ones of the next 3 solutions. You can test disabling your
Anti-virus and check if the error occurs, if yes, then disable you
firewall. But only for testing, AFTER test enable both AV and FW and
select the solution from above that suits you better.
1. Disable the app:
Run CMD
and type: msfeedssync disable
2. Disable automatic update in IE
Internet Options - Content - Content Advisor -
"Sources” “Configuration” and disable “Search..."
3. Configure your Anti-virus and Firewall.
It depend of your software used, for the firewall you need to allow connections for msfeedssync.exe located in, C:\Windows\System32
Regards
Go to Tools / Internet options / Content / Feeds / Settings and uncheck all the boxes so feeds do not apply to IE any more (or you can keep some checked if you actually use them but this is where the problem is coming from).
That should resolve the problem.
or
1. When exactly do you receive this error message?

If you are facing the issue in Internet Explorer, let's follow these steps & check if the issue persists:

Click the Favorites Bar option.
You should see the "Favorites" button.
Click it.
b) Click the Feeds tab.
You should see a list of the RSS feeds downloaded on your browser.
c) Right click on the feeds and click Delete.
Repeat this same process to delete all RSS feeds.
Close "Favorites" when you finish.
d) Reopen Internet Explorer & check if the issue reoccurs.
Hope the helps.
