Orange light in power button on ... no blue

Orange light indicates stand-by mode. Blue light is fully operational. When I turn thre power on, it goes straight to the orange light and stays in stand-by mode. Nothing has been added or changed in any way, just started happening. After numerous tries, it would go to blue and operate normally until you turned it off... then you would have to turn it on and off another several times to get it to work again. Now it just doesn't work.

    yes mine is doing the exact same thing after a CPU change, i chaged it back to the old one and its still doing it

possible cpu failure, power button will light and flash indicating that there is a problem.

The battery turns on steadily or blinks to indicate battery charge status.
If the computer is connected to an electrical outlet, the light operates as follows:
  • Solid blue - The battery is charging.
  • Flashing blue - The battery is almost fully charged.
If the computer is running on a battery, the light operates as follows:

Since it sounds like an issue with the Power first try to release flea power.Disconnect the charger,remove battery,press and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.Reconnect the battery and charger.Turn on system and check if it turns on. For further help please check Dell Inspiron 1525 Manual. Also confirm if the light on the charger stays on,when connected to the system.

if orange it is on stand by mode ,the cable that you changed is it power cable if yes then you used wrong one it may affect, i think you need to check power supply board . also get other opinion too. good luck
