Could be lower than normal gas pressure because of the high demand in cold weather. Could also be a similar electrical voltage lower than normal. The "brains" in appliances are too smart sometimes.
inside the control panel is a tech sheet that has some diagnostics on it . there is a membrane button test or something to that effect. I suspect that the start/pause button is the problem and you would need to replace the console w/touchpad.about $130-140 new. there are some used ones on ebay.
pf means power failure. your dryer uses an extra boost of power on start-up and your is failing to get this boost you need a repair person in your area
