Hi there, I bought a used hitachi ultravision and did not get the manual. I'm trying to set it up and for some reason i can't get any of the proper channels. I run the channel scan and it scans through, then when you try to select a channel the only channels available are weird numbers like channel 60-1 or 72-4 and so on. Anyone have any ideas on what i can do? Thanks.

yes, unplug all power from the set for a while---may have had a power loss and the set reacted in this way.

Likely the lamp in the set has failed here which does make sense if the picture was dim before---a lot of lamps just before failing all the way dim down.

The model indicated is a DLP rear projection and uses a "lamp" for brightness.

If it has not been changed for a while it should be on the right side of the set behind a removable plate. Check your owners manual if you have it.

Life span varies but 2,000 hours is normal.

Usually you need a decoder to receive "Cable" With your "Cable" usually you connect the Cable antenna, to the Cable "Box" form the "Box" to the Audio Visual EXTERNAL inputs, in the back of the TV. Now IF your TV can receive the "Cable" directly, then you would have to connect the Antenna, into the rear of the TV, now you would go to the "Tuning" section, and, the TV, would automatically "Search" for any available channels. They would then, be displayed at the end of the scan. Please find a user manual below, this will help you tune in, IF you can. If you cannot, you will have to get a cab;e "Box" and a remote. Hookup to the TV, from the "Box" to the TV, via, Audio and Video cables. You use the "Box's" remote to change channels and volume. You first must set the TV's Volume, & picture setting, the TV, is basically just used as a "Monitor" for the "Box". Hope this helps..

This is what you're going to do, Turn on the Tv and go to the service manual, if the green tint is still there, you have a defective dmd board, but if it's no there, then you have an issue with your video board
