There is no Windows 7 compatible driver for Epson Stylus Photo 785EPX printer on Epson site. Now what? I can't use my printer now that I got a computer with Windows 7. What can I do? The Epson site lists driver downloads for Window 7 for practically every model but this one. Why?
There is a driver--it's provided by the Microsoft website. While your computer is connected to the Internet, connect your 785EPX to your computer via USB and then turn the printer on. The driver will auto download and install. I just did this on an HP DV7 laptop and the printer works fine, showing ink levels, too, though you have to access the printer properties to see this.
Run windows 7 in virtual xp mode, the printer will function but you will not see the ink levels and I have not found a way to show ink levels. at least we don't have to get a new printer as jay seems to think is the best solution,,,I have yet to find a better printer than this one even with all the new technology. suggest that jay actually think about what he writes before putting it down. just saying a printer is old is definitely not helpful to anyone.
Because it's too old.
