My Gestetner Dsc445 shows a continuous misfeed (J001) @ Z1 after removing ALL paper & rebooting machine. Can you help?

you need to service the machine and clean the pick up rollers, reverse rollers as well as blow the the sensors of the machine

try cleaning the feed wheel in the paper tray cause that will not be picking up paper works for me .try using a damp cloth

need need new tires in tray 1

I don't know about the j001 code but generally the reason a copier will misfeed is the pick up rollers being worn. There can be a number of other reasons besides this but this is the most likely.

If you are a technical person you may want to remove the tray from the machine (pull all the way out, tilt upwards, and pull.) to clean the rollers. Once the trays are removed you will see a set of three rollers for each tray. They can be removed and cleaned or cleaned directly on the machine. They may have build up dust on them preventing feed. Reinstall the trays the same way they came out but in reverse steps.

Then:

1. Pull offending tray all the way out and remove paper.
2. Unlock the side guides and make sure they move freely
3. Set about 100 sheets of NEW paper for now and adjust the side guides and the end fence. The end fence must be against the paper (touching) and the side guides must NOT be too tight agains the paper as this will prevent the tray from lifting.
4. Make sure the paper size dial is set to the paper SIZE and ORIENTATION.
5. Close tray and test.

Let us know what happens. In the worst case it could be a Magnetic clutch malfunction

before i can help you you need to tell me which brand and model is the machine.
The Message "misfeed detected" means that a paper is bee jammed inside of the copier so you should open some door and remove the paper which has been jammed inside of the copier.
Because of that i need the brand and model of the copier for i to be able to help you and tell you what to do

hi jocelyn912 you have to adjust the paper size frome the printer propertise to fix the papesize to 11x17 ore to A3 size also tray to print via offica aplecations such as word . tray and let me know if the problem sold thanks.

It sounds as if the actuator is out of position or bad. In the fuser exit there should be a thin little black (usually) actuator that hangs down and the paper pushes/ lifts it off of the switch/ sensor as the paper passes. If this is pulled out of its holder or broken it will act like there is still paper jammed. The actuator looks like a little ' j ' and is pressed into its holder. If this is seated properly then the switch is probably bad and needs replaced. About resetting --- a paper jam is considered an 'A' code and does not need the machine to be ' service reset '.
