If you move the boombox with the audio CD player will it slip, with this model? ... I cannot buy a new boom box ...
Those CD cleaners rarely work. They are nothing but small brushes on a plastic CD. Unless the problem is loose dust, they won't work. Try carefully opening up the unit and cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem, post the model number and I'll provide the replacement optics part number and cost. Some units have replacement optics that cost less than $15.

Well, for the CSD-ED27 the sleep works like this: 1. press STOP/MEMORY and then also 2. press PREPEAT/FM MODE/OSC 3. your display will show 10 4. use the tuner - & + to good from OFF-90 mins
As to you CD player not playing: it is sounds like the spinner might be not spin completely flat to the optical reader. This happen with my portable CD player, however at this time I do not have a fix for you. Good luck though.
