This is caused because the remote wire isnt unhooked. u either have to turn the remote wire off or connect the wires to the blue wires on the back o your radio for the light to turn off. that light WILL drain your battery fast!

Have two front ,two rear speakers, and two tens that i want to hook to my stereo. How do i do it and get the maximum sound?

If the Sony amp (I'm not familiar with that one) has its own crossover and subwoofer output, use that, and set your crossover point for what sounds best to you. Honestly, it is best to have a SEPARATE two-channel amplifier & crossover for the 10" subs. Whatever you do, make sure you use a large capacitor (2 Farad or more) at the power input of the amplifier for the subs. This will help prevent blown fuses. (It is also a good idea to use at least a 1 Farad capacitor at the power input of the amplifier for the other four speakers.)

I just got a sony xplod 1000 watt amp i got everything hooked up and when i turned the key the power light chaned from green to red. i check over the amp again and again, i cant find any thing wrong........

Try disconecting all speakers from the amp, turn it on after and if it stays on red it sounds like it had kicked the bucket. if it stays green start from their and check all of your wires for shorts (speaker wires) again. hope this helps...

I got a protection light on in my amp and low pass filter cuts out rear speakers even when hooked up front inputs to rear speakers im using the high level inputs as i only have one rca set

Try unplugging all the speakers and then powering the amp up, plug in one at a time to determine when the amp cuts out to protection. Chances are you may have touching wires or a speaker that is about to blow or at worst a amp going/gone bad

I need a color code for a Sony Xplod CDX-GT23W.

Guessing that you don't still have the owners/install manual.

On the back of the head unit there should be a group of unused/unconnected wires (with any luck they will be marked), one or more might be an amp turn-on or power antenna lead, so I suggest (with the unit turned on) testing each wire with a DC voltage tester so as to identify and separate any leads supplying 12+ volts. the remaining group will consist of speaker leads. Trial and error testing will determine the proper L & R rear speaker leads.

Good luck

Hi i have a 600 watt sony xplod amp model xm-554zr and it recently stopped working. when i turn my car on the amp turns on but only for a sec then the protection light comes on, on the amp and it wont...

sounds like maybe a speaker short, try unhooking your speakers and then powering up your amp, if it then powers up with the speakers unhooked try hooking up each speaker one by one untill the amp goes back into protection and then you have your bad speaker.

Red light

something is shorted in the circuit, or your subs. unhook the subs first and try it again, if it is still in protect then it is most likely the output transistors.

Red light

Have you disconnected the wire from the speaker?? and the amp?? Maybe the wire is pinched as I suggested?? If not then yes I would sy the peaker could be bad or the amp output on that channelis fried.
